The Match Race between
the Flying F a r in e r, Ed
Leedy, Delta Ford, Bay City,
Michigan with his 427 Ford
Fairlane Thunderbolt and
Paul Rossi, driving the
Westborn Raiders A/Fac-
tory E xperimental H e m
Ram Dodge is scheduled for
Sunday at the Dragway. This
will be a best of five match
race between two newly -de-
veloped cars racin; for the
first time in Canada.
Other competitors expect-
ed will be Pete Wouters,
White Lightning, Claim
Jumper, Cliff Duncan, Bill
Kydd and Lang Chase.
Butch Bryan, Flint, Michi-
gan, put his foot down solid-
ly on the accelerator of his
B/Fuel Dragster cranking
out an 8 point 40 second
run at 180.72 MPH to win the
Top Eliminator,
Bryan was chased all the
way by White Lightning, the
Swanson and Wilson A/Fuel
Dragster that qualified for
runner-up money with an
E.T. of 8.58 seconds at 175
MPH.
Competition Eliminat-
or saw Lang Chase in his
B -modified roadster
squeeze out Bob Atchinson's
A Fuel Dragster in a close
run. Chase turned 9.42 at
156 MPH while Atchison
clocked 9.71 at 163 MPH.
A nitro -fuelled roadster
the Miller -Gregory "Pack -
Rat" driven by Roger Miller
took the money in the Middle
Eliminator. It was a show in
Itself when the "Pack -Rat"
pulled out in front of Cliff
Duncan's dragster Ricky
Tope's Chev powered road-
ster and Bill Kydd's Dodge
powered roadster to cover
the course in 9.97 seconds
at 140 MPH on the final
rum
Other results were Ju-
nior Eliminator, Ernie Col-
lar, I,ittle Eliminator, Way-
ne Huber; Street Eliminator,
London Auto; Tiny Elimina-
tor, Jack Hyde and Junior
Stock, Howard Brown.
Top Stock Sunday was
"The Big Cat" driven by
Bill Mason, Dearborn, Mi-
chigan, with an Eo To of
12.73 at 112 MPH,
Swimmer Saved
Mrs, Gordon (Ann) Hen -
rich, Kitchener, was pulled
unconscious from the lake
on Sunday afternoon by
swimmers nearby, and life-
guards, Tony Ford and Don-
ald Glen, revived her.
She was taken to South
Huron Hospital in Exeter
over -night and was then re-
leased.
According to Corporal
Fulton, Mrs. Henr ich was
apparently knocked off her
feet by waves which ranged
between two and four feet
high.
In order to carry on an
argument you must descend
to the other man's level.
