All Within One Holiday
Ever notice haw meny
truly descriptive words
ere contained within the
one word 'holiday'?
Put in sequence, they
tell the whole story.
"load" - At least once
ench yeer, people get the
feeling their load is get-
ting too heavy. Dny-to-
day living mny not be ex-
citing, but it sure is
exhausting. Just when
you are certain you can
beer it no longer,holiday
time rolls round ...then
it's another kind of a
load, the type you peck in
bnps end suitcases end
boxes to transfer on, in,
around, through, over end
even under your car.
"day" - Usuelly some-
thing you would just as
soon not face, a day on
vacation is something to

cherish. If you are for-
tunate, you will have
anywhere from one to
eight weeks of days to
fill with sightseeing,
swimming, boetingoicnic-
ing,visitingounning.dri-
ving,golfing - the list
is endless.
There ere four types
of holidnys.
"ley" - If you are the
lazy vecationer, you pre-
fer to rest. In bed until
noon, reclined until ev-
ening, relaxed until bed-
time, a "ley" holiday is
often the best holiday..,
the first choice of the
aged and the not-so-nged
who helve the good sense
to use n vacation as it
was intended to be used.
"lid" - A "lid" holi-
day is designed especial-
ly for bnchelors. Named
for its relationship to
the phrase "blow the lid
off", this type of \ment-
ion includes hitting
every bar and socinl spot
in town; flirting with
every gel in the place;
meking merry at the most
disrespectful hours; end
generally racing your
motor in ft quiet zone,
"lad" - On the other
hand (and the very thing
that makes "lid" holidays
so popular) there are the
"lad" holidays, appealling
strictly to the ladies.
"Lad" holidays require a
swinging werdrobe,
crazy hairdo, one room et
n hotel near the beech,
plenty of sunshine, end
a full moon every evening
...oh yes, and an assort-
ment of lads. Relatively
inexpensive if you play
your cards right, "led"
holidays often result in
n more permsnent arrenge-
ment...
...end from then on,
it's "nid" holidays.
"Aid" holidays are the
worst kind...and they fall
to the folks who need n
vneation the most. An
"eii" holidey is so celled
becnuse of its components
...finenciel aid, lemon
ede, children's aid end
first aid. Every genuine
"nii" holiday has e smell
or, 'Aide in enr,ying
eientities, n gisnt dog,
n cempstove, nmep-reeding
nervous navigntor who
used to be mother and e
flnt hreke lunatic pilot
who resembles fether.
"had" - This is whet
you've got when you re-
turn . P "had" feeling.
Good or bed, vacation is
over erd you ere sorry to
see it end.
"hold" - This is at
you do for the next 12
months - hold on to the
memories of your vecetion
and to the hope of an-
other to come.
"holy" - This is %fiat
holidays hive become -
a holy, even sacred time
more beloved to some than
anything else in life.
People live for veeetion,
save for it, plan for it,
bow down to it...,iust one
