It is reported that_ there will be some tumbling in the ranks of the men at present inpower, from promises made whicl, were riot fulfilled. We .intend devoting; considerable space to this HI4vt4...er at some future time Mr, Andrew's sugar works is an in. dustry which is growing into import; in our: town. He has now a large amount of sugar cane on hand and he bays •' there has been more grown throughout the country than . he was aware of. This promises one of the, leading :industries in the Dominion at no distant date, and we bespeak for Mr. Andrews every success in the en- terprise. PROSPECTIVE RoA --A number. of the ratepayers of Colborne are making efforts to have a new road opened to the •base .line,:from opposite the 1st cob, of that township. The road across by wayof Ball's bridge, is a round about, and the'. bridge there having been con- deinned,•the people have determined to take time by the forelockand have a. • nearer road to Clinton. There' iq a road allowance, within a half'.a hole, of. the point in view but the approach from it to the river is inaccessible, .'The Oolborne people have re�qquest'ed`'the Goderieh Township Couiierl.o give the old road allowance to Mr. Mair in ex-. change for a road allowance across phis farm.
