Londesborough.
On Wednesday last, a cricket match:
between the members of the Londes-
borough cricket club took glace and
proved an interesting event. Visitors
from Clinton and Blyth were in attend-
ance and took part in the' game which
was very closely contested throughout,
Dr. Youngand J. Bevelle were cap-
tains of their teams and the last named
brought his men out victorious by 4
runs. Dr, Young',s side scored 46' and
50 and J. Revelle 50 and 50, The
largest scores in the winning side were
J,,Lasham 11 and 24, A. Taylor 10
and J, Revelle 12. On the losing side
Dr, Young 15 and 2 W. Jackson 10
and 2 and J. Ames 12 were the largest
contributors. Messrs, L. Thorne and
D. Erwin were the visitors from Blyth
and they worked for all they . knew
how. The match throughout was a
yery pleasant one and wilt do Much to
organize a good club in our flourishing
village: With practice, several of our
young men will make good cricketers.
Our team expect to play a. practice
Match with Clinton next week.
