Wilkin and Taylor at the last meeting having beep received and the letter and explanation of Mr. Malloch given, the board do now' consider the sante.—carried. After a lengthy discussion it was moved by Mr. Thompson, seconded by Mr. Pay, that the board having examined the papers laid before them in connection with the examination held in Dec. last for promotion in the Public School, and having heard the complaints made in. connection therewith and having also heard the explanation of Mr. Malloch. the Principal of the School regarding the same, find that the examination of the papers of the pupils ,belonging to - Mr, Taylor's division, was most iiegli-, gently conducted, and that the returns of the said examination was incorrect in many respects. This Board further finds that a number of scholar's; belong- ' ing to said division obtained a sufficient• - number of marks to have passed into the higher room, but through the care- less planner in which the papers were .examined,. and the returns made up; diel not receive credit for the marks, which they were properly entitled to. Furthermore this Board desires - to record their strongest' dis-approbation f the ne if crit conduct of tile, Prinei- o gg pal and Inspector in relation to the said examination.' And that this Board desires to express their regrets at the unnecessary delay that has arisen in bringing this matter before then,-- Carried.
