For some time "past, considerable
has been said on this subject, and it
has been su,fiiciently+ agitated, to war-

it is evident to every keen•sighted ob-
server, who has travelled over this road,
that Clinton has tow become one of the
Most important stations ontheline. By
counparieg statementsof receipts for
passenger traffic as well as freight,, of
this year with former years, it will be
seen that they have largely .ilicreased.
Again the peopled Clinton are bound to
go ahead and keep up with the times in

With these facts in view, the Colilpany
will do nothing more . than justice, in

until such steps are taken,

11Iy attention .has been drawn, to an
article in your columns respecting an
operation said to have been performed
by Dr: Young and myself and which
reflects somewhat upon a bxether prac-
tioner. For myself, and I think. I may
also apeak for Dr. Young, I decline to
be responsible for the medical opinions
advanced in the article, or the infer-
ences deduced therefrom. In the pres-
ent haste to procure the latest items
of news, it is, difficult for an editor to
apply the pruning knife sufficiently to
Articles, which although written with -
the best of intentions are not always
productive of the Gest of feelings in the

unsatisfactory to the Medical profession

notice "attended by Dr. Jones or Dr;.
