MR. EDrroa,—Would you please be
bind enough to allow mu space iu your
valuable paper for a short report of
the oyster supper, given by Mr. Henry
Beacon., previous to leaving his pre-
sent premixes, which was recently sold.
He gave invitations to his many
friends in Clinton and surrounding
neighbothood, to partake of an oyster
supper on Monday evening, 14th inst.,
which was heartily responded to. The
guests began to pour ill about 8 o'clock
and continued so till a late hour. The
supper was got up in the best style by
Mr. A. T. Salt, whose well known
abilities as a caterer is unsurpassed,
After the good things had betas par-
taken of and the usual toasts given,'
the company sang "Tor Harry is•a jolly
good fellow," which was responded Go-
in good style, by. Mr. Beacom utount-

his best to accomodate thein, but ]toped

sex by'next fall, when. his next oyster
supper will be given to his friends..

which was well received. He would
make a first-class alto singer, by a little,
cultivation of the voice. Mr. Bennett

and chorus by•the company. • It is int-.

of them. The guests dispersed to their
several horses " early in the morning,"
after spending a very enjoyable evening,
