Engagement
That fifty week period has
passed us by again and holiday
time is here at The Standard.
This will be the last issue of the
paper for two weeks in order to
allow us to enjoy our' annual
two-week vacation period,
As usual, we plan nothing spec-
tscular Intl are hoping to he able
to relax ,and for two weeks just
poke around and be as lazy and
carefree as we would like to he
the other fifty weeks of the year,
in fact, with the rush and hurry
of catching up with the work in
order to get away al all, right
now we feel like taking the next
fifty weeks off and working for
only two. No doubt everyone
who takes holidays feels this way
by the lime things are in ship
shape and the retreat can be made
without too many problems,
With the itot weather we have
been experiencing for the past.
few weeks, the pace. in Blyth and
surroencline district has slowed
down to a slow crawl and new.,
has been anything but easy to,
come by. Perhaps when we get
back things will have changed
and news events will be (Cming
in thick and fast -- in any event
we hope so as it makes for a
touch more interesting paper for
both publishers and readers.
In any event, there will not be
another issue of The Standard
until August 27th, when we hope
to return burned to a crisp, golf-
ed to a frazzle and rarin' to go for
another fifty weeks. Well see
you then and hope you will miss
us while we're gone, Just do us
a favour and pray that the good
(weather will continue unit Aug-
