boat appeared off 6:aerial harbor, steain-

HANDSOME -GRANT To THE VOLUNTEERS.
The special edinmittee upon. matters
connected with the Counties Volunteers,
reported as follows :•-•1--
That the Treasurer be authorized to
pay to each non -:commissioned officer and
private in the companies belonging to the
Counties, while on active eervice, as
follows :-To each married man, 50cts
per day ; each single man,- 25cts. - The
married men to bo_paid. by the Treasurer
of the municipality to which they belong,
those receiving money. to furnish proper
receipts, and the Counties' Tieasurer to
refund the amount paid by each Town-
ship Treasurer upon furnishing regular,
Ray sheets, signedby the proper parties,
in the same fern as the Government pay.
The single men to receive their pay when
clismisi-d from *Lye service, or when the
Oor sees fit to provide necessaries. _

Indeed, I think that some of the concessions
which were- tendered are beyond what; our

tion. Of these particulars hoe e .-er it is not
necessary to speak, sive they eventuated in
nothing. ,-Apart from differences of opinion
as to certain -of the term offered, I am dis-
posed to look .with eatistaction, not unmingled

Provinces Were reprieented at Washington.
