Mr,lioalt Herring, aged 8yeare, was kindling
a tire in the stove, cm Saturday afternoon,
22nd inst., she struck a match, and thinking
that k did not, ignite, threw it away, but un
fortunately it ISad ignited, and instead of her
throwing it from her, she let h fall tm her
dreskand before she held time tostrikeanoth-'
er match, found herself on fire. Her father
itratinother were absent at the time ad left
thialittie girt at home with a Miss Boasted,
-aged II years, *tad a sister aged II yeers,who
-aa they discovered her on fire, did their best
topnt it out, but were enable to doe -o- before
everything was &nut off her body. She lin-
gered in great agony till Monday, about one
p.m., when death put attend- to her sufferings,
Dr- MeNangliton was ealiedin and did all that
was possible for her,. but of no avail.--
