GODERICII TOWNSHIP.
FIRE.—On Friday niht last the A-alit:1131e
frame barn and stable belonging to Mr.
Wm. Hyslop, Huron Road, were burned
to the ground. Mr_ F. Armstroirz, the
tenant, had been out to the building about
9 o'clock with a lantern, and the flames
broke out about 10 o'clock. The horses,
- stock, kc., - were saved,- - but A quantity:. of
hay, straw-, ite., was burned, together wall stader's tavern, Belinore, get a renewal_ of
a -fanning mill, harness, .tool -chest and
other.,-articies belonging_ to Mr. Hysl9p,
whose loss is at1east-$500,. $200 of which
was insurekin the Royal. The aright., of
ti 4 fire is tannivit.
Applications were made for a renewal ot
tavern licenses from Mr. Griffin and Mr.
Cornyn, Wingham, Mr. Johnston, Bluevale,
Mr. Green and Mr. Helm, Wingham.
Moved by Mr. Fisher, seconded by Mr.
Moffatt, That the above named persons get a
tavern license for the coming year provided
they get a certificate from the Inspector.-
Carried.
Mr. William Thompson was appointed
assessor, Mr. John McTavish Jr., Collector,
and Mr. Jaws Elliot Tavern Inspector*.
Moved by Mr. Moffatt, - seconded by Mr
Eadie, That Mr. Pugh's tavern in Bluevale.
