THE SEMI-WEEKLY SIGNAt. ' ago, by some who ought to know well, that they would not poll titty votes in the town- ship for 'no License.' Ontzoing to the Town Hall at about 2 o'clock p. tn.. I find that this prediction is likely to be.verified.- The poll stands 90 for license to 11 no license. The temperance men look dull and dejected, and appear to have made no arrangements for bringing out even what strength they have. I repeatedly hear the remark made that Dunkin should amend his Bill by adding to it a clause that in townships such as this where there was no possible hope of carrying a mi License By -Law. that the requisionists should pay the expenses. At the close of the Poll to -day the vote stood 24 for the By Law, 105 for the Taverns. _The -general -opinion is that the affair should terminate here, but the 'powers that be conclude that the Poll. shall be kept open to morrow. •The weather has been beautiful to-dayh-a sleigh -ride was pleashnt and enjoyable. - • To -day, Friday, there is a change- in the weather -cold rain is falling plenteously.
