BRODHAGEN NEWS OF THE WEEK
Pupils of Brodhagen School pre-
sented a program at their concert
last Tuesday evening to a very
large audience. The school was
beautifully decorated with stream-
ers, wreaths, bell and Christmas
tree. Rev. E. J. Fischer was the
chairman for the evening, and the
teacher, Miss Audrey Hackwell, of
Walton, was the pianist. Gary and
Warren Sholdice provided music
for the square dance.
The program was as follows:
Opening chorus, "Cock-a-doo-dle-
doo," "Christmas Cavalcade," "Sil-
ent Night"; recitation by Gary
.Rock; chairman's address; chor-
uses by Juniors, "Old King Cole,"
"Reindeer Bells" with Larry Kist-
ner, soloist; dialogue, "Sales Re-
sistance"; tap dance, Beverley
Sholdice; recitation, Alvin Hicks;
triple trios, "The Christ Child" and
"Away in a Manger"; recitation,
Maynard Hoegy; square dance by
Juniors dressed in red and white;
piano s*, Cheryl Bennewies; dia-
logue, "Official Visit"; solo, "I
Wish My Mom Would Marry San-
ta Claus," by Beverley Sholdice;
recitation, Audrey Hodgert; duet,
"Sunbonnet Sally" and "Overall
Jim," Karen and Bobby Rock; bat-
on twirling, Phyllis Hinz; recita-
tion, Bobby Kistner; flag drill by
Senior boys; recitations by Jean
and June Puschelberg; coronet

sung by the audience.
A draw was also held for: first,
electric frying pan, won by Mrs.
Charles Eggert, RR 1, Dublin; sec-
ond', a television lamp, by Mrs. W.
L. Querengesser, Brodhagen; third,
flannelette blanket, by Miss Doro-
thy Horn, Mitchell; mystery prize,
a Christmas cake, Norman Rock.
The'seller of the most tickets, Miss
Phyllis Hinz, received a box of
chocolates. Master Paul Rock re-
ceived a gift for selling the win-
ning first prize ticket.
Miss Jane Rock read an address
and Norman Bennewies, member
of the school board, presented Miss
Hackwell with a musical jewel
box, necklace and earrings. Mr.
Fred Harloff, the caretaker, was
also give rt a gift.
Santa Claus gave out gifts and
candy, and Mr. Wilfred Krauskopf,
reeve of Logan Township, also
donated candy to each child.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith, San-
dra and Arthur, of Orangeville,
visited with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ed. Smith.
Mr. Roy Wolfe, of Milverton vis-
ited his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Eli Rapien.
Mr. Ivan Eickmeir was hospital-
ized owing to a fall at his home,
requiring stitches to his head.
WINTHROP
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon entertain-
ed the Blanchard family Christ-
mas dirmer.

Mrs. Roy Bennett had the mis-
fortune to fall in her home and
break her arm.
Mr. David Watson fell in his
home and is now a patient in Scott
Memorial Hospital.
