To Hold Anniversary
The annual anniversary of Duff's
United Church will be held next
Sunday, Oct. 20, With Rev. Carl
Krug, Belgrave, as guest speak-
er. Services will be held at 11
a.m. and 7:3Q p.m., Daylight Sav-
ing Time. A fowl supper in con-
nection with the anniversary will`
take place the following Wednes-
day evening, commencing at 5:30
p.m., Daylight Saving Time.
.Hold Successful Bazaar
The 8th of Morris and 16th of
Grey Group held a very success-
ful bazaar last Friday afternoon
in the schoolroom of the church.
Mr. Jack Bryans played a piano
prelude as the guests arrived.
Rev. W. M. Thomas .' acted as
chairman Or a short program con-
sisting of recitation, "Autumn
Spirit," by Russell Barrows; solo,
"Think of Me," Mrs. Harold Small -
don; piano duets, "Dance of the
Lady Bird" and "Hear Dem"Bells"
by Mrs. Harvey Brown and -Mrs.
Jack Bryans.
The bazaar was then declared
open. The various counters dis-
played aprons,'' fancy work, home-
made baking, candy and miscel-
laneous articles. Following the sale
of goods, the ladies grouped at
decorated tables, representing the
twelve months of the year, and a
very dainty lunch was served by
the group members.
A discussion was held in regards
to the Thankoffering meeting which
was to have been held on the regu-
lar meeting date, with Miss H.
Curtice, of Clinton, as guest speak-
er. As she is not available at this
time, it was decided to have the
regular meeting on the usual late,
November 7th. An invitation was
accepted from the Brussels Angli-
can ladies to their thankoffering
meeting on Friday.
