In last week's news it was sug-
'll-0§4c1 the rugby team was one of
lively spirit and plenty of drive.
Well, Tuesday's game with Gode-
rich proved this a false statement!
At the beginning of the game, the
Seaforth squad showed real play,.
fug spirit and. team co-operation,
until Goderich "bagged" the open-
ing touchdown in the first quarter.
From then until the three,ihmute
whistle blew, the "Bears" lacked
'zip" and Ppunc13". During the
two minutes between the three-
intrute whistle and the one -minute
whistle, the Seaforth team seemed
to recuperate, but they were soon
discouraged, when Goderich com-
pleted a long, long pass to score
a T.D.
At the signal ending the 28 to 0
defeat, Seaforth gave the 'victor-
ious Goderich squad the tradition-
al three cheers, thoroughly ex-
hausted from playing a defensive
ball' game.

serves a clap on the tack in con-
gratulation for the job he did as
quarter-baelt with the partly inex-
perienced backfield and transpar-
ent line be had to work with.
The score could easily have been
worse if it had not been for a few
other veterans, both on the line
and in the backfield doing most oil
the tackling.
From the way Mr. Dobson spoke
after the unexpected defeat, the
!practices hereafter would be more
'strenuous. The thing he is most
likely to emphasize nQW i§ tack-
ling—tackling hard and low. He
may also try to improve on tinn-
ing as far as offensive play goes.
Let's hope those that were inex-
perienced have now learned and
are ready to settle down to play-
ing the game the way they should
and can play it. The game at Wing -
ham next Tuesday should tell the
tale.
Students' Council
The big question has finally been
settled. Initiation this year will be
held Thursday, Sept. 26, for one
day only, much to the displeasure
of the senior students, and very
much to the liking of the first-year
students. The initiation dance will
be held Friday night to "welcome"
the students.
The theme this year for hair -dos
is the `Forward Look'. The hair
will, in the case of the boys, be
combed straight forward, and for
the girls, the hair is straight
down. During initiation the inside
is coming outside in the form of
"long Johns" which are to be worn
by both boys and girls.
There are many other laughable
-combinations to be seen on Thurs-
day, along with chain gangs, lad-
der brigades and harsh punish-
ments.
*
To cut down on confusion at 2:30
when the students are permitted to
watch the rugby or basketball
games, after paying a dime, the
Students' Council are selling cards
for $1 to all the students who wish
to attend the games. This card
will also gain them entrance to
one school dance.
