met their son, Hugh, who had ar-
rived by air froma tour of Eng-
land, Scotland and ten European
countries. While in Italy he had
an audience with the Pope.

Robert Kay McFarlane, `a. well-
known and highly ' respected Win-
throp resident, passed aaway in
Scott Memorial.alqapital early
TuesdaY- Re was in his 74th Yogr.
Mr. McFarlane had bei -in geed
health, but on Sunday suffered a
heart attack. He was able to get
up orf Monday, but that evening
a ferthea and more severe attack
followed. Removed to hospital, he
failed to rally.
Born in Middieville, Oat., he
•married Nellie Tennant, of Middle -
vine, who predeceased him. In
1954 he niarried Margaret Pearl
Pattersoa, of Seaforth, who sur-
vives,
DIfr. McFarlane, who received his
education in Almonte, came to Mc-
Killop in 1912. Since his retirement
to Winthrop he assisted McKillop
Township road maintenance staff
from time to time.
He was an Elder and Clerk of
the Session at Cavan United
Church, Winthrop.
In addition to his wife, he is sur-
vived by his mother; a brother,
David G.,and a sister, Mrs. Jas.
Scouter. 11 of Almonte.
Largely attended funeral ser-
vices were held Thursday from
Whitney funeral home, Seaforth,
when his minister, • Rev. W. H.
Summerell, officiated. Interment
was in Maitlandbank cemetery.

Detroit, and Mrs. Susan McEwing,
of Seaforth, visited with Mr. and
Mrs. George Watt on Wednesday
evening.
Burns' Church will have church
and Sunday School services at the
usual hour on Sunday, Sept. 1, with
Mr. White in charge.
Miss Beth McEwing, of Gode-
rich, spent Thursday and Friday of
last week at the home of her par-
ents.

London on the arrival of their baby
girl at Victoria Hospital on Satur-
day.

Master Murray McCall spent a
few days with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie

Mrs, Stewart McCall, were on holi-
day.

hold their August meeting at the
home of Mrs. Leslie Reid Thurs-
day evening, August 29, at 8 o'clock.
