MISS MINNIE SOMERVILLE
Services were held Wednesday
for Miss Minnie Somerville, 75,
who died in Scott Memorial Hos-
pital', Seaforth, Sunday.
Miss Somerville was the daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archi-
bald Somerville She was born
and educated in McKillop township.
The Rev. D. Glenn Campbell, of
First Presbyterian Church, was in
charge at the G. A. Whitney Fun-
eral home. Interment was in Mait-
landbank cemetery.
Miss Somerville came to Sea -
forth in 1912. She was a member
of Northside United Church.
She is survived by two brothers,
Wiliam, McKillop, and John El-
liott, Victoria, B.C.
Pallbearers were Gilbert Smith,
•Ross Driscoll, Ralph _McNichol,
Walter Somerville, Archie Somer-
ville and Ken Campbell. Flower -
bearers were Tom Somerville and
John Driscoll.

yellow mums.
Albert Gilleno, London, was the
groomsman.
A reception was held at the Dick
House and guests from London,
Toronto and Halifax were present.
• For travelling the bride chose a
navy dress with white accessories.
The happy couple left on a wed-
ding trip to Northern Ontario and
the U.S. They will reside in Lon-
don.
UPSHALL—HAYTER
Margaret Catherine Hayter and
John Francis Upshall exchanged
marriage vows before the Rev. Dr.
Semple at Egmondville United
Church manse, Saturday, July 27,
at 2 p.m. The bride is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hay-
ter, of Varna, and the groom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. James
Upshall, of Kippen.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a formal gown of
Chantilly lace over slipper satin,
which featured a ruffled skirt of
net, lily point sleeves, cowl neck-
line and sequin trim, and carried
a bouquet of red roses.
Miss Barbara Hayter was her
sister's attendant, wearing a
gown of turquoise of net over taf-
feta, and carrying a bouquet of
yellow mums.
Mr. Ray McLarnon, of Cooks-
ville, was groomsman.
The reception was held at/ the
home of the bride's parents. For
receiving Mrs. Hayter chose a rose
colored dress of linen with acces-
sories in white. Mrs. Upshall wore
a brown crepe ensemble. Both
wore corsages of pink carnations.
For travelling to Northern On-
tario for their honeymoon, the
bride wore a black and white dress
of linen, white accessories and a
red rose corsage. Mr. and Mrs.
Upshall will reside in Hensall.
ROBINSON—CASKEY
A quiet home wedding was sol-
emnized on Thursday afternoon,
July 4, when Catherine Agnes, only
daughter of Mr, R. J. Caskey and
the late Mrs. Caskey, was united
in marriage with Rev. William Orr
Robinson, at Portage la Prairie,
Manitoba. He is the brother of
Thomas Robinson, of Egmondville,
and Richard, of Zurich.
Rev. A. D. Caskey, uncle of the
bride, performed the ceremony,
assisted by Rev. H. I. Bowman.
Wedding music was supplied by
Mrs. R. Sanders.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore an afternoon dress
of fine corded silk in a dicia shade,
featuring a beaded neckline. ,Her
accessories were beige and her
corsage was of pink Sweetheart
roses.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception for about 60 guests was
held in 'the United Church auditor-
ium. Mrs. Kermit James sang "0
Perfect Love." The toast to the
bride was proposed by Mr. E. G.
Porter, and ably responded to by
tbe groom.
For travelling the bride chose a
linen suit of navy, accented with
pink. Her accessories were navy.
The bride and groom left by plane
from Winnipeg for Toronto and
other points in Canada and the
United States. On their return,
Rev. and Mrs. Robinson will re-
side in Oakville, Man.

Miss Betty Campbell, bride -elect
of this month, was honored Tues-
day evening at Cavan United
Church, when a Miscellaneous
shower was held for her prior to
her coming marriage.
The room was tastefully decor-
ated With pink and white stream-
ers and 'gladioli. Miss Lorraine
Smith, mistress of ceremonies,
pre,sented the following program:
guitar and. vocal solo, Eileen
Smith; piano, solo, Shirley Dol -
mage; vocal duet, ,Mrs.Frank
Johnston and Mrs. R. K. McFar-
lane; piano duet, Elaine Beattie
and Marlene Pepper. Several con-
