MISS A. M. BRISTOW
Annie Maria Bristow, 91, died
Tuesday at the home of her sis-
ter, Miss Tena\ Bristow, in Eg-
mondville. She had been in poor
health for seven years.
Born in Guelph, Miss Bristow
was the daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Henry Bristow.
Moving shortly afterward to ,Eg-
mondville, where she was educat-
ed, Miss Bristow lived in Hamil-
ton for 35 years before returning
to Egmondville in 1942.
She was a member of Northside
United Church, Seaforth. Surviv-
ing are two sisters and two broth-
ers: Miss Tena Bristow, Egmond-
ville; Mrs. Sam Hohner, Bayfield;
William Bristow, Sarnia, and Leo
Bristow, Miami, Florida.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday
at the G. A. Whitney Funeral
Horne. Rev. Bruce W. Hall is in
charge. Interment is in Maitland -
bank cemetery.
MRS. J. C. LAING
Services were held Tuesday in
Seaforth for the late Mrs. John
C. Laing. The former Margaret
Jane Scott, Mrs. Laing died Fri-
day in Victoria Hospital, London.
She was 84.
The Rev. Bruce W. Hall, B.A.,
B.D., S.T.M., was in charge of ser-
vices held in the G. A. Whitney
Funeral Home. Interment was in
Maitlandbank cemetery.
Predeceased by her husband, the
late John Laing, in 1945, Mrs. Laing
was born in Hibbert township. She
was married there in 1901.
Mr. and Mrs. Laing moved to
Seaforth in 1915 upon retirement.
They were members of Northside
United Church.
Mrs. Laing leaves two brothers,
one sister, two children, seven
grandchildren and 10 great-grand-
children.
Brothers and sisters are: James
T. Scott, London; John G. Scott,
Russeldale; Mrs. Norman R. Park,
Mitchell. Children are Mrs. W. R.
(Mary) Aberhart, of London, and
William T. Laing, Wallaceburg,

in Guelph for Mrs. Carson Allen,
the former Anne E. Strong, who

one of the graduating class.

visited over the weekend with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Reid.

Miss Lois Roe was in Kitchener
last Saturday and was informed

burg, visited over the weekend at
her home here:
Everyone was sorry ko hear that
Mrs. Nettie Neilans had to return
to the hospital, due to bad health.
All wish her a speedy recovery.
Mrs. Arthur Colson, Mrs. Watson
Reid and Mrs. Leslie Reid at-
tended the graduation exercises
last Friday afternoon in Seaforth
District High School.
Mrs. Earl Bernard, Brussels, vis-
ited last Friday with her daugh-
ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John
McEwing.
died, June 5, following a lengthy
illness. Mrs, Allen was 53.
Daughter of the- late Mr. and
Mrs. William Strong, Mrs• Allen
was born in Seaforth in 1904. She
attended Seaforth Public School
and Seaforth District High School.
Mrs. Allen taught public school for
five years at S.S. 13, McKillop.
In 1931 she married Carson L.
Allen, moved to Woodstock, and
then to Guelph, where her husband
is principal of Central School.
Mrs. Allen was a member of St.
Thomas' Church, Seaforth, and,
later, St. George's Anglican Church
in Guelph.
Surviving are her husband, Car-
son L. Allen; a sister and brother,
Mrs. Archie (Cora) Somerville,
Walton, and Leonard Strong, Sea -
forth; a son, Bill; five nieces and
a nephew.
Services were conducted by
Archdeacon Kirk, of St. George's
Church. Interment was in Lawn -
view cemetery, Guelph.
Pallbearers were Bill Strong,
Seaforth; Ralph Allen, Mount For-
est; Don Johnson, Jim McQuaid,
Fred Hamilton and L. McVittie, all
of Guelph,

Mrs. David Ritchie, the golf club
cottage, Kincardine.

Mrs. William Bradshaw on Sun-
day.

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Dennis
were in Dearborn, Mich., over the
weekend attending the funeral of
his uncle, the late Mr. E. Martin.

Rev. Donald Joyce, B.A., B.D.,
of Dundas St. United Church, Lon-
don, will be the special missiuner.
Mr. Joyce is one of the younger
ministers of the church and has
conducted a number of missions
with marked success. Motto of
the mission is, "The Answer is
God: Worship Him."
-Dr. Semple respectfully sug-
gests the date the mission should
have prior consideration by all
church people and that no other
matter be allowed to interfere or
compete for their allegiance.

of London, visited a few days last
week with Mr. and Mrs. Luther
Saunders.
Mr. Ross Millson returned home
Monday after spending a few days
in Scott Memorial Hospital. We
hope he will have a complete re-
covery. _.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buchanan on
the arrival of a baby son on Tues-
day a't Scott Memorial Hospital,
Seaforth.
Constance Sunday School anni-
versary will be held this Sunday
afternoon at 1 o'clock (note time),

as special speaker.
Mr. Karl Lohse and friend, from
Goderich, left Wednesday morning
for Elliot Lake, near Blind River,

The open meeting of the Con-
stance W.M.S. will be held Wed-
nesday afternoon, June 19, at 2
o'clock. Mrs. Earl Mills, Walton,
will be the special speaker for the
afternoon. The WA. will sponsor
a bazaar after the meeting and
