Edward Laithwaite, who had his
foot painfully injured in a power
lawn mower last Friday, is im-
proving. He is the grandson of
Mr. and Mrs. Hotham. Edward is
a Grade X student of Goderich
High School and an ardent hockey
and tennis player.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hutchinson
and family, of Windsor, visited
with Mrs. Ellen Bannon.
Mr. Stan Dorrance, of Chatham,
and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Brown
and Stephen, of Toronto, visited
with Mrs. Mae Dorrance over the
weekend.

The Forty Hours' Devotionopen-
ed on Friday morning in St: Pat-
rick's Church. A large crowd at-
tended both morning and even-
ing services. Solemn Benediction
brought it to a close on Sunday
evening with Rev. John McCowell,
of St. Columban, the celebrant. He
was assisted by Rev. Dr. Ffoulkes
and a Redemptorist Father from
London, Rev. Father Sullivan, who
was the speaker at the evening
services.

The death of Mrs. William F.
McMillan, Egmondville occurred
in Scott 'Memorial Hospital, Sea -
forth, on Tuesday, in her. 85fth-year.
Mrs. McMillan had been In failing
health since February ig this year.

Watson, Brucefield and Mrs. John
Watson, Egmondville, and one
brother, Fred Burdge, Brucefield.
Resting at the G. A. Whitney
funeral home here, service will be
conducted Thursday at .2 p.m. by
Rev. Dr. Semple, Egmondville
United Church. Interment will be
in Baird's cemetery, Brueefield.
