Junior Institute meeting. The mot-
to, "Happiness seems made to be
shared," was given by Marjorie
Papple. The roll call was answer-
ed by "a gift I would like to re-
ceive," with sewing machines the
most popular answer,
The topic, "When a Girl Mar-
ries." was given by Sharon Hem-
ingway. "Kitchen Capers Are in
Your Future" was read by Sandra
Doig. A poem entitled, "This is the
Day," was given by Ilene Dolmage.
The story of wedding rings was
told by Marjorie Smith. A discus-
sion and contest on wedding eti-
quette, conducted by President
Dorothy Keys, concluded the meet-
ing.
"Harvesting Methods" was the
topic discussed when the Junior
Farmers met, with the vice-presi-
dent. Merton Keyes, in charge. A
lively discussion and debate was
held on combines `vs. threshing
machines and forage harvesters.

Man Honoured
Russell Moore, who will leave
Hensall to live in Bancroft was
guest of honor at a farewell party
Friday.
The presentation address paid
tribute to Mr. Moore for "the ex-
ample you have been to the young
men of this church." Mr. Moore is
a member of Carmel Church and
is active in church affairs.
Rev. and Mrs. Donald MacDon-
ald, the Board of Managers and
their wives met in the schoolroom
of Carmel Presbyterian Church to
hear the address, read by Garnet
Mousseau.
Mr. Moore was .presented with
a Bible and with a fishing rod and
tackle by Alex McGregor, presi=
dent of the Board.
MERVYN BROWN
HENSALL.—Residents of Hensall
and district learned with regret of
the sudden passing of Mervyn
Brown, who died suddenly in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Satur-
day with a heart condition. He
had been enjoying good health un-
til a few days previous to his ad-
mittance to hospital last week.
In his 75th year, he was born in
Hensall, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. George Brown, and was a
former druggist in Toronto until
he retired to Hensall 20 years ago.
A member of Hensall United
Church, he held the position of
auditor, and was a member of
Huron Lodge A.F. and A.M. 224,
Hensall.
Surviving is one sister, (Pearl)
Mrs. Jack Wilson, Stratford. He
was unmarried.
Public funeral services were
held in the Bonthron Funeral
Chapel Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. In-
terment was in Exeter cemetery
Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Infant Daughter Baptized
Baptismal service was held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. B.
Baird on Sunday afternoon, when
Agnes Dianne, infant daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Baird, re-
ceived the rite of baptism by the
Rev. Sidney Davison. The baby's
great-fgrandmother, who was 97
last January, was present, along
with the immediate family.
