Clubs held their annual Achieve-
ment Day program in S,D-H.S.
Saturday featuring the pnloject,
"Sleeping Garments."
Eleven clubs—Auburn, Brussels,
Clinton, Dashwood, Elimville, Hur-
ondale, Kippen, Londesboro, Mc-
Killop, Seaforth district and Sea -
forth town, with a total of 135
members—took part.

a.m., the morning program was
devoted to judging classes, giving
reasons and placing exhibits.
Miss Shirley 'Bullock, home econ-
omist for Huron, opened the after-
noon program commenting on the
splendid work achieved by the var-
ious groups. The purposes of the
club are to teach the girls how
to get better value for their mon-
ey, how to plan a wardrobe for
economy and to acquire self-con-
fidence.
Four clubs placed exhibits de-
picting the topic. "Sleeping Gar-
ments," with Sharon McBride
•commenting for Kippen; Joan
Johnston for Clinton; Nancy Cald-
well for Londesboro, and Loretta
Connolly for McKillop. Comments
on club exhib'.tl were made by
Miss Florence P. Eadie, supervisor
of Juniorxtension.
Following this were club skits
and demonstrations. Marilyn Riley
and Mary Broadfoot, Seaforth dis-
trict, demonstrated how to prepare
fabric for cutting. Others demon-
strating the same project were

reen Brock, Elimville. Those par-
ticipating in the skits, "What

The forum topic was, "Is there
a cornnion economic meeting -
ground for farmer and labor? '
Farmers are capitalist as well as
laborers, also farmens are depend-
ent solely on. wages. We don't
think the labor members have eq-
ual say, Labor members want to
buy eheap•food and farmers need
more money. •
answer to, "Can these differ -
enc& be overcome? If so, how,"
the forum thought a thorough, un-
derstanding of each other's prob-
lems might overcome some of the
difficulties, but felt that farmers
should stand together and fight for
their ovvni, interests.
