The bride wore an ankle -length
gown 43f white lace over slipper
satin, fashioned with matching
bolero and lily point sleeves with
a pearl -trimmed collar. Her fin-
gertip veil fell from a headdress
of pearls, and she carried a bou-
quet of white mums tied with a
blue ribbon.
Bridesmaid was Miss Jean Wa-
ters, of Arthur, who wore an ankle -
length gown of light gray taffeta
with a pink flake and a small pink
hat trimmed with pearls. She car-
ried a bouquet of pink mums.
Mr. Ron Trewartha, Winthrop,
was best man.
A reception was held at the home
of the bride's parents. Serving
the wedding . dinner were Miss
Betty Campbell, Mrs. Joe Little
and Mrs. Harold Pryce.
For travelling, the bride donned
a brown taffeta dress with. brown
accessories and a fur jacket. She
wore a corsage of yellow mums.
The groom's gift to the bride
was a fur jacket; to the best man,
tie pin and cuff link set, and the
bride's gift to the bridesmaid was
a gold necklace and earrings.
After a wedding trip to parts
South, the couple will reside in
Zurich. Guests were present from
Arthur, St. Jacobs, Clinton, Sea -
forth and Winthrop.

ALEXANDER BETHUNE
Alexander Bethune, formany
years a well-known Seaforth resi-
dent, and in his youth a member
of famous Seaforth football and
lacrosse teams, died in Scott Mem-
orial Hospital Monday night. In
his 80th year, he had been in hos-
pital but a few days following a
fall.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Colin Bethune, he was born and
educated here. Widely known as
an athlete, he played on many Sea -
forth teanis, including the Seaforth
Collegiate football team that won
the Haugh cup in 1894. His father
was • G.T.R. stationmaster in,. Sea -
forth for many years.
He spent a number of years in
New York, and later in British
Columbia, where he was engaged
in the hardware business and iii
fruit farming at Kamloops. In 1931
he retired to Seaforth, and in 1946
at •St. Paul's Church, Stratford,. he
married Ruby Crowell, of Seaforth,
who survives,' together with a sis-
ter, Mrs. James Mutrie, of Vernon,
B.C. Two brothers, George and
William, and a sister, Miss Jessie
Bethune, predeceased hi -in a num-
ber of years ago.
Funeral services will be con-
ducted by Rev. J. H. James, of St.
Thomas' Anglican Church, at the
Box Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. on
Thursday. Burial will be in Mait-
landbank cemetery. Pallbearers
will be Senator W. H. Golding,
George Parke, George McGavin,
George Hays, Norman Scoins and
Russell Holmes._

Parr Line Farm Forum was well
represented at their opening meet-
ing on Monday evening at the home
of Mr. and Mrs., Gordon Love.

The discussion, "School Milk and
Major Health Aid," revealed the
following findings: (1) The forum
was unanimous on the program of
having milk supplied to schools on
a national scale; (2) Local dairies
should supply milk in their area;
(3) Cost should be undertaken by
the individual school area board,
with assistance from , provincial
grants; (4) The forum recommend-
ed that a trial- period of three
months be made by the Hay Town-.
ship School Area Board, in which"
milk would be supplied to the pub-
lic schools; this in turn would be
a test period, which could lead to
a permanent program.
Games and lunch followed the
meeting, prize winners being:
