Hensall Arnold Circle
Holds Meeting
The Arnold Circle of Carmel
Church. - Hensall. convened for
their May meeting in the church
schoolroom Monday evening with
the president, Mrs. Mary Hilde-
brandt, presiding. Members pres-
ent signed a get -well card to for-
ward to Mrs. Ed. Fink, who has
been a patient in the hospital. Roll
call was answered by "Labor."
Mrs. R. Sangster read a thank -you
note from Mrs. John Thompson.
The group accepted aninvitation
to be guests of the Women's Mis-
sionary Society of the church at
their annual birthday party June
14. The sick committee reported
having made eleven visits to sick
and shut-ins.
Mrs. Harry Snell prepared and
conducted the worship period, and
read a poem entitled, "Mother."
Mrs. Gordon Schwalm and Mrs.
Gordon Troyer read sacred pass-
ages. Mrs. Snell read "The Fam-
ily of Faith't and offered prayer.
Mrs. A. Orr read excerpts from
Glad Tidings. Mrs. Orr and Miss
Hannah Murray contributed a vo-
cal duet. "Faith Of Our Mothers."
The offering amounted to $1625.
The supply total was $2225. The
meeting .closed with prayer by
Mrs. Snell. -

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Flynn, of Sea -
forth, spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. E. R. Shaddick.
Extensive plans were outlined
at the Kinsmen Club suppler meet-
ing on Thursday for the coming
Ontario Bean Festival. Thursday,
June 14, will be ladies' night, and
the husbands will entertain their
wives at the Knotty Pine Inn, Lon-
don. President William Mickle
presided.
Mrs. Wes Coleman, of Hay town-
ship, who recently sold her farm
to Ross Corbett, and has taken up
residence with her daughter and
son-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Hugh
Morenz, of near Grand Bend, was
honored at a presentation arrang-
ed by neighbors and friends of S.
S. 10, Hay. Mrs. Coleman was pre-
sented with a tale lamp, clothes
hamper and we. bracket. Her
daughters, Shirely. received a cup
and saucer. and Sadie, a sweater.
Mrs. Robert McLean, who has
been very ill at her home- with a
heart condition. is improving slow-
ly, her many friends will be pleas-
ed to know.
Mrs. E. Geigel who has spent
the past two weeks in Toronto, has
returned home.

and Pamela, spent Sunday in Galt
with the latter's. sister and broth-
er-in-law, Mr: and Mrs. Jack Rob-
ertson and daughter, Ann.
Edwin Kerr, of Exeter, who is
teaching in Toronto, was ,the win-
ner of a child's Fina jeep, valued
at $30. in a draw at the Fina Ser-
vice Station, on No. 4 Highway,
south of Hensall, recently opened,
and owned by Elmer Johnston.
Reeve Norman Jones drew the
winning ticket on Monday evening.
There will be another draw in the

derwent an operation in Scott
Memorial Hospital, Seaforth, < is
improving nicely.
Mrs. A. W. Shirray taught grades
3 and 4 at Hensall Public School
last week in the .absence of the
teacher, Miss Marion Lillico, who
was away writing examinations.

County Court House. Goderich, on

The Huron County TB X-ray unit
was at Hensall Community Cen-
tre on Friday, but because of a
breakdown in equipment the stay
was extended until Monday to ac-
commodate the people. Total num-
ber of people X-rayed was 656, in-
cluding 75 employees of General
Coach.
