Holds Party The annual Sunday School party. of Holy Trinity Anglican Church was held on Tuesday, December 27, in the new parish hall. A var- iety of entertainment was given and much enjoyed , by all. The Ladies' Guild provided nuts and candy for the children, and Santa Clausappeared to distribute the gifts. Resident, Passes Suddenly Death claimed one of Hensall's oldest and well-known citizens in the person of Miss Hattie Dent Sutherland, who passed away sud- denly in. Clinton Community Hos- pital on Thursday evening, Decem- ber 29, where she .had been a patient since March. In her 87th year, She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Sutherland. She was born in Auburn, but had been a resi- dent of Hentall since its inception. For many years she assisted her brother, the late George J. Suth- erland, who acted as Hensall, cor- respondent for The Huron Exposi- tor, and in that capacity had been associated with this paper for most of her adult life. Mr. Suth- erland died in 194Q. A member of the United Church, she was also a life member of the Women's Missionary Society, Women's Institute and W.C.T.U. Public `funeral services were held at the Bonthron funeral home on Saturday. Rev. C. D. Daniel conducted the service and paid fit- ting trlbnte to her life. Mrs. Geo. Heng sang an appropriate solo, '`'How Beautiful Heaven Must Be." Miss Greta Laramie was accom- panist. • Interment was in Hensall Unita! Cemetery. HAMILTON WALTON,—Mrs. Joseph R. Ham- ilton passed away -'suddenly at her home in Brussels on Monday, De- cember 26. She had enjoyed good health all her life until the last year and a half. Her maiden name was Ida Isa- bel Oakley, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Oak- ley, of McKillop Township. Mrs. Hamilton was quite active in church work. She was married to Joseph Ham- ilton fifty years ago last June and resided in McKillop Township un- til 16 years ago, when they moved to Brussels. Although hard of hearing, Mrs. Hamilton had made many friends and was liked by all who knew her. Surviving are her husband and two sons, Mark on the home place, and Robinson, of London; also sev- en grandchildren. The funeral, which was largely attended, was 'held on Thursday afternoon, December 29, from St. John's Anglican Chgreh, Brussels. Rev:' Norman Ellis `officiated, as- sisted by a former rector, Rev. Mr. Kerr, The pallbearers were Reg Watson, Harvey McCutcheon, Ralph Pearson, Harry Bolger, Harvey Craig. and Roy • Williamson, The flowerbearers were six grandchil- dren: Joyce. Joan, Penelope, Bar- bara, Gerald and William Hamil- ton, Rosemarie Bolger and Olene Dundas. The floral tributes were many- and beautiful. Interment took place in Brussels cemetery.
