CATTLE BREEDING ASSOCIATION
"Where Better Bulls Are Used"
QUESTION: Will offspring of the bulls used in the Unit sell
well at Auction?
ANSWER: In September,. George G. Musselman, of Flora-
, dale, dispersed his registered Holstein herd, nearly all sired by
Unit balls. The top price was $400.00 for a daughter of Macdon-
ald Supreme Ajax, V.G., sold to Delton Shantz, of Elmira. There
were several others over $300.00.
In November, Eli B. Martin dispersed his herd with the ma-
jority sired by Unit bulls. Ed. Bell, of Blyth, purchased the top
cow at $510.00, a two-year-old daughter of Glenafton Milestone
V.G. There were many others sold between $30.000 and $500.00.
• On November 29th, Herbert S. Feick, of Kitchener. dispersed
his herd, mostly by Unit bulls. A.V.G., •daughter of Elmcroft
Monogram Duke V.G. and Extra, with a two-year-old record of
12,267 milk, 463 fat, 3.77%, topped the sale at $800.00. selling to
Mr. Dolson, of Brampton. There were many other prices ap-
proaching the above.
A Jersey 'cow. produced from artificial breeding by Menno
Shantz, of Ayr, classified excellent, was sold in the sale of Stars
for $1400.00, and the next day she was Reserve Grand Champion
at that great show.
These are only a few examples which could be
sited and the herds mentioned are simply good
farmer breeders. The first two cases did not use
the benefits of testing for production and class-
ifying .for type. •
Regardless of which breed, grade or purebred. you can bene-
fit by using our services if you are not doing so now. The cost
is low.

INDIA LEADS
Ttie constitution of the new
Indian Republic stipulates that
prohibition shall come into ef-
fect. A committee was set up
last year to determine when
and where. Its report, if ac-
cepted by the government, will
outlaw liquor in 21 years—ex-
cept for foreigners drinking in
private.
Some of its recommenda-
tions:
—That all liquor advertising
be banned after April 1, 1956;
—That an immediate ban be
placed on serving liquor in
bars, hotels, restaurants, clubs
and social gatherings;
—That the plan be complete-
ly ushered in by April, 1958,
after which time no Indians
would have access to liquor.
It is noteworthy that of the
29 States in India, 13 are al-
ready dry.—(Advt.).

The Bank of England has made
the counterfeiter's lot an even
unhappier one by pressing a thin
strip of aluminum foil into the
paper used for making bank
notes. Seems the do-it-yourself
enthusiasts find it virtually im-
possible to duplicate.
It is nice to think that there
will probably be a little bit of
Canada wherever this new paper
currency circulates. Great Bri-
tain imports 80% of her alumi-
num from Canada, and in turn
represents one of the major mar-
kets for Canadian aluminum.
