(Hardie, El - IT WILL PAY YOU TO WAIT FOR THE NEW CHEVROLET 1 Improved performance and a fresh- ness in styling that extends through- out the three series of passenger cars headline advances in 1956 Chevro- lets. The nine -passenger station wagons and two four -door sport sedans will be new -comers among 19 models. Front ends will be made more rugged appearing in a re -design of grille and forward sheet metal. Models have a lower, longer look. New colours, unique two -toning and tasteful interiors give each of the series complete distinction. Engine choices include V8s and a more pow- erful six cylinder. Modern lines of the 1956 Chevrolets are evident in the above view of the Bel Air sport sedan. Frontal ap- pearance has been smartly altered by new sheet metal and brightwork. Among unusual features in the 1956 Chevrolets, the gasoline filler is con- cealed by the rear left tail lamp. In the design the tail lamp is hinged and swings downward out of the way, as shown in the view to the left. SEAFORTH MOTORS SEAFORTH • Brussels Reeve—R. B. Cousins (qual.), J. -H. Stretton (qual.). Before a new telescope -type stretcher, made of nylon and aluminum, was adopted by the Canadian Armed Forces, it got the works. They jumped on it, dropped rocks on it, tossed it out of aircraft and army lorries, froze it in ice, buried it in mud and sand. They finally gave up —and placed the order. Its lightness and compactness makes this rugged stretcher a natural for everything from northern air -rescue work to the needs of hospital, police, Civil Defence and other authorities . , . Another job for Canada's aluminum and the men who work wonders with it. ALUMINUM COMPANY OF CANADA, LTD. (ALCAN) lnilian LducutioNt.r First Church WMS Discussion Topic Mrs. D. Glenn Campbell, presid- iding for the November meeting of the Women's Missionary Society of First Presbyterian Church, gave a reading, "God's Strange An- swers," and followed with prayer. Following the hymn, "Lead Us, Heavenly Father," the secretary and treasurer's reports were read. Thomp- son's group arranged this meet- ing. The hymn, "0 God of Bethel," was followed by the scripture read- ing by Mrs. Robert Smith, and the "Glad Tidings Prayer" by Mrs. W. Drover. Mrs. David Ritchie gave a very interesting talk on "Education in India." Mrs. Campbell, reporting on the Conference held recently in Goderich, gave a most interest- ing and informative talk on "The Missions of the Church" Prayer by Mrs. Thompson concluded this interesting meeting.
