to be held in Grand Bend United

The provincial president, Mrs. Gor-
don McPhatter, of Owen Sound,
will be present. Those of the Hen-
sall branch desiring transportation
are asked to contact Mrs. Lorne
Chapman. Members will take a
box lunch and a hot beverage will
be provided.

sionary Society of the United
Church, Hensall, under the.Auper-
vision of the supply committee,
packed a bale of clothing, valued
at over $400, for overseas relief.

in the church schoolroom Tuesday
afternoon.
The November meeting of the
Ladies' Aid of Carmel Church, Hen-
sall. was held in the church school
room Monday evening, Nov. 14.
Mrs. A. Orr's group was in charge.
The singing of Hymn 494 opened
the meeting. Mrs. M. Dougall read
the scriptural passages. Mrs. S.
Dougall took the meditation. Pray-
er followed by Miss Hannah Mur-
ray. Mrs. J. Bonthron contributed
a pleasing so, "There • is a Little
Brown Gate." A closing hymn was
sung.
The business of the meeting was
conducted by Mrs. L. Baynham. A
report from Treasurer Mrs. W. R.
Bell was given. Mrs. R. Cameron
reported for the manse committee
on sundry accessories needed at
the manse. Mrs. W. R 'Bell made
a report on a suggested improve-
ment project which could be made
m the manse kitchen. including
modern cupboards. and on an offer
made by Rev. Donald MacDonald
to do all necessary carpentry work
for the project. Mrs. J. Bonthron
made a motion that the Ladies'
Aid should accept Mr. MacDon-
ald's offer and look after all ex-
penses involved should it be ap-
proved by the Board of Managers.
Mrs. Alex MacGregor seconded the
motion.
The new slate of officers for the
coming year was drawn up. Mrs.
H. Hoy took charge of the nomina-
tions, which : resulted: president,
Mrs. M. Dougall; vice-president,
Mrs. P. Compbell; secretary. Mrs.
J. Soldan; assistant, Mrs. Clarence
Reid; treasurer, Mrs. W. R. Bell;
group leaders: Mrs. Archie Hog-

comments were heard of this fine
production; each member - of the
cast excelling themselves. The

for the annual Christmas tree par-
