Miss Bowey and Mrs. Wilson had charge of the devotional exercises. The business part of the meeting foI- lowed. PIans for the bazaar were dis- cussed and it was decided to hold it on November 2, further plans to be made at the October meeting. The W.A. hymn and prayer brought this part of the meeting to a close. Group four then took charge of the program and lunch, and also a baking sale. -- - ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. and Mrs. Michael Feschuk, of Vita, Man., announce the en- gagement of their daughter, Hel- en, of London, to Mr. Clifford J. Stinson officiated for a double -ring ceremony in North- side United Church manse, uniting in marriage Laura Leiper and Mr. Gordon Murray, Walton. The bride is the daughter of Mr. William Leiper, Londesboro, and the late Mrs. Leiper, and the bride- groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Murray, formerly of Walton. The bride chose a dress of crys- talette in romance pink shade with a matching bolero. Her accessor- ies were in pink and navy, and her corsage was of yellow roses. Following a wedding trip to the Niagara peninsula, the couple will make their home in Morris Town- ship. The man didn't say a word when they ran over his cat with a steam roller. STOREY The death occurred at St. Jos- eph's Hospital, London, on Monday of Thomas W. Storey, Egmond- ville, following an illness of two months. Born at Winthrop, he was in his 78th year. He was married in Sea - forth in 1915 to Catherine Healey, who survives, together with one daughter, Martha, Mrs. Alvin Log- an, of Brussels. He is also sur- vived by a brother, Joseph, of Preston, and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Broome, Seaforth, and Mrs. George Nicholson, Blyth. For many years he was a con- scientous employee in the district, retiring in 1945. A member of Egmondville Unit- ed Church, funeral services were _conducted by his minister, Rev. W. E. Milroy; from Box Funeral Home on Thursday. Interment was in Harpurhey cemetery. JAMES McLAUGHLIN James Henry McLaughlin, re- tired McKillop Township farmer, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospi- tal, London, in his 78th year. He went to London 28 years ago on retirement. Mr. McLaughlin was horn in Mc- Killop Township, where he farmed near Seaforth. He was a member of Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church, London. His wife, the former Maud Woods, ,survives with one daugh- ter, Ellen, Mrs. Joseph Diver, of London; a sister and a brother, Mrs. Margaret Barber and Thomas McLaughlin, both in Vancouver, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conduct- ed on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. by Rev. 0. G. Locke, of Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church, in the A. Millard George funeral home, where the body rested. Interment was in Mount Pleasant cemetery, London. MRS. GEORGE R. ANDERSON The death occurred in the Muir Nursing Home here on Friday of Mrs. George R. Anderson, in her 90th year, following an extended illness. Member of a prominent pioneer family of Seaforth, she was the former Margaret Wilson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Wil- son. She was educated and spent her youth in ii,eaforth, and follow- ing her marril a to Professor An- derson lived in' Toronto for many years. Her husband predeceased her three years ago, but she is surviv- ed by her sister, Mrs. Arthur Sampson, Seaforth, as well as by a number of nieces and nephews, including Clerk D. H. Wilson, Sea - forth, and Mrs. Dolena McCuaig and Miss Janet Wilson, Seaforth. Resting at the Whitney Funeral Home, services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. D. Glerfn Campbell of First Presby- terian Church. Interment was in Maitlandbank cemetery COUPLES' CLUB SEE PICTURES The September meeting of the Northside Couples' Club was held on Monday, when the opening sing- song was led by Edna Bell. The devotional consisted of `a reading by Miss Bell, followed by a read- ing by Gerd Ferris on "The Ten Commandments For Modern Par- ents." Hymns 568 and 488 were sung. •Scripture was read by Winn Ferris, and closed with a prayer by Edna Bell. Rev. John Stinson showed beau- tifully colored pictures of their re- cent trip to Banff and Jasper, Al- berta. The numerous slides illus- trated the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Games then followed in charge of Neil Bell and Gordon Ferris. Lunch was served by the hostess for the • evening. The meeting closed with the singing of "Taps."
