• Members held a social hour in
the club room where sandwiches
and coffee were served, and John
Henderson entertained with color-
ed slides of his trips taken through
the country.
W.M.S. Appoints Delegates
The Women's Missionary Society
of the United Church, Hensall, met
on Thursday evening in the church
schoolroom to resume their month-
ly meetings which opened with a
pot -luck supper. At the close of
sapper, Rev. C. D. Daniel address-
ed the ladies.
The regular meeting followed
with the devotional taken by Miss
M. Ellis, Mrs. Rowe and Mrs. W.
Henry. Mrs. T. C. Coates favor-
ed with a pleasing solo, "My Heav-
enly Father Watches Over Me."
During the business period ar-
rangements were made for dele-
gates to attend the sectional meet-
ing at Grand Bend Tuesday, Sept.
27th. Baby Band party will be
held Wednesday, Sept. 28. Mrs.
N. McLeod, of Kippen, was guest
speaker and based her thoughts
on the theme, "Stewardship."

Hamilton, spent a few days with
Mrs. Alice Ham and Miss M.
Swan.
Mrs. H. F. Berry left Tuesday
for Seattle to visit her brother.
The many friends of Mrs. Wm.
Pepper will be sorry to hear she
is in Clinton Hospital and hope
she will soon be better.
Mrs. Alice Hohner spent a few
days in London and Exeter.
Mr. and Mrs. D. Boyce and Bet-
ty, of Toronto, spent a few days
with friends in the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and Ina,
of Toronto, visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Alex Paterson.
Mi's Mary Gibson is visiting her
sister. Airs. John McMurtrie, and
Mr. McMurtrie, in Hensall.

DUBLIN:—Standards of white
gladioli and ferns with tall light-
ed candles formed the setting for
the marriage of Marie Bruxer,
eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lows Bruxer, Dublin, to Mr. Clar-
ence White. son of Mrs. George.
White, Kinkora, and the late Mr.
White, at St. Patrick's Church,
Dublin.
Rev. J. B. Ffoulkes, D.C.L., of-
ficiated at the ceremony and the
'Nuptial High Mass. Mrs. William
Lane -was organist, and Mrs. Frank
Bruxer was the soloist.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a floor -length gown
of traditional white satin appliqued
with Chantilly lace and rhine-
stone trim. Her fingertip veil of
illusion was held in place by a
coronet of orange blossoms, and
she tarried a cascade bouquet of
red roses.
Her bridesmaids, Miss Mary
Shea, Dublin, and Miss Joan Mc-
Laughlin, Walton, cousins of the
bridle, were identically gowned in
waltz -length embroidered net ov-
er pale blue satin, with matching
bandeaus and gloves. ,
The junior bridesmaid, Miss Hel-
en Bruxer, sister of the bride,
wore a gown of periwinkle blue
satin with pink bandeau. Their
flowers were nosegays of yellow
roses.
The best man was Mr. Austin
White, Aylmer, and the ushers
were Mr. Frank Bruxer, Dublin,
and Mr. Sylvester Ryan, Kinkora.
A wedding dinner was served at
the Shakespeare Inn, and later a
reception was held at the home of
the bride's parents. The bride's
mother wore an aluminum grey
costume, with matching accessor-
ies and a corsage of tea roses. The
bridegroom's mother wore a teal
blue taffeta frock with matching
accessories and corsage.
Following a honeymoon trip to
Northern Ontario, Mr. and . Mrs.
White will reside in Kinkora.

At the Ladies' Auric to the
Legion meetingheld Tuesday .eve-
nuig in theeg n hall, -$0.0 was
voted to assist w paying far the
artificial ice recently installed in
the local arena.
Members decided to entertain
the Legion to a turkey supper on
Tuesday, October 4. A ppt-lulek
lunch was enjoyed. President
Mrs. D. McKelvie presided.
Tuckersmith Club
Plans Bazaar
The September meeting of the
Tuckersmith Ladies' Club was
held at the home of Mrs. G. Mc-
Gregor with 24 ladies present. The
meeting opened with the Opening
Ode and the Lord's Prayer.
"School Days" was sung.
The roll call was answered by a
dressmaking hint. All the mem-
bers wore a print dress. It was
planned to hold a bazaar in the
council chambers, Clinton, on the
afternoon of October 8.- Mrs. Wal-
ters gave a reading. Mrs. M. Fal-
coner led in an interesting card
stunt.
"Silver Threads Among the
Gold" was sung and the meeting
closed with the Homemakers'
Prayer. A lovely lunch was serv-
ed by the hostess and her helpers.
