Presentation' to Choir Member§
At the morning service in Hen-
sall United Church last Sunday,
Rev. C. Daniel presented an ad-
dress entitled., "The Lower
Lights." Mrs. Carl Pa$me sang a
pleasing solo, ' "The Stranger' of
Galilee." Miss Greta Lammie was
organist. Prior to the worship
hour, the presentation of Hymn-
aries was annade to the Misses
Jeanne and 'Rath Soldan,, choir
members, who 'are leaving for
their respective ...studies. Jeanne
enters St. T ns' Hospital this
week and Ruth commences stu-
dies at London Teachers' College
in two Weeks' time. Mr. S. Ren-
nie, choir leader, thanked the girls
for the years of service in the
choir. Mrs. Pearl Passmore pre-
sented gifts. Next Sunday, Sept.
4, the services are as nsual-Chis-
elhurst 9:45 a.m-, Hensall 11 a.m.
Rev. C. Daniel will officiate.
Mr. John Doig, Grand Rapids,
Mich., visited over the weekend
with his mother and sister, Mrs.
Lydia Doig and Janet, prior to
taking in the Canadian National
Exhibition and a boat cruise to
Sault Ste. Marie.
Mrs. James W. Bell, who was
called to Oakland, Cal., owing to
the serious illness of her sister,
Mrs. Olive Knapp, who since then
has improved, has returned home.
Miss Mildred Forrest, Reg,N.,
returned on Monday to her duties
at the General Hospital, Brant-
ford. Miss Forrest spent a month
vacationing with her parents; Mr.
and Mrs. William Forrest. Part
of her holiday was spent along the
lake in Northern Michigan.
Mark and Karen Geiger, of To-
ronto, are spending a week boli-
daying= with their grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs..Edmund Geiger.
Rev. C. D. Daniel and Mrs. Dan-
iel, who have been vacationing at
their summer cottage near Gode-
rich, returned to Hensall this
week. They are getting settled in
the manse, which has been nicely
redecorated inside.
Douglas Shirray and Jack Chip -
chase are spending this week at
the United Church camp near God-
erich.
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle, Bet-
ty, Charles, Bob and Ann spent
Sunday in Ridgetown and Rondeau
Government Park, visiting the for-
mer's mother, Mrs, George T.
Mickle.
L/Cpl. Robert Davis, of the First
Canadian Infantry Division Signal
Regiment, is spending sixteen days
leave with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E. R. Davis, prior to sailing
for Germany on September 29 with
the Second Canadian Infantry Bri-
gade. Bob expects to be away for
two' years.
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Mousseau, of
Zurich, accompanied by Mr. and
Mrs. George Hess, have returned
after a pleasant week's vacation
at Manitoulin Island.
The Women's Missionary Society
of the United Church will hold a
pot -luck 'supper in the church
schoolroom September 8. The reg-
ular meeting will follow the sup-
per.

with friends in Hensall.
