TODAY Dennis Electric mi t1 eeefv Guts About 60 neighbors and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Johnston, Walton, on Friday evening ''to help celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. The evening was spent playing. pro- gressive euchre, followed by a short program, which included a solo byMarilyn Johnston and readings aby.. Mrs. A. McCall and Mrs. F. Bell. Jack I Bryans read the- Lowing address: Dear Leila and Harvey: Your friends and neighbors have gath- ered together for two reasons: first, to offer you our heartiest congratulations on the occasion of your silver wedding. During these 25 years of mar- ried life, both of you have given yourselves unsparingly not only to our own particular . corner and township, ,but also to the whole of Huron County and very worthy cause. Harvey has been reeve of our township and Warden of Huroq County. Yoty have taken a lead- ing part in the life Of our church, in the Sunday School, W.A. and W.M.S., choir and session. Our community was very proud when Harvey was appointed the Myst chairman of the Huron United Churehnfen, and most delighted when he was appointed member of the Dominion Churchmen. We could never hope to cover the work that you have been able to do together during your married life, but we know the secret of it, and that is: perfect harmony in your marital relationship. Your interests have been identical. Re- ligion has never been an append- age to your life; it is your life. - In.. conveying. to you our heart- iest congratulations, we ask you to accept this tangible token of our good wishes. It doesn't by any means express all we feel to- wards you and your family, but it is our second reason in convey- ing to you our good wishes. This gift will serve as a constant re- minder to you of the place you hold in our affections." Mr. and Mrs. Johnston were presented with a beautiful lamp from the neighbors and friends; a table from their mother and father and Bert's family, and a Helmscene picture from their family: Mr. Johnston thanked everyone for their best ravishes and their gifts. Lunch was then served by the ladies, complete with a three- tier wedding cake, suitably iced for the occasion. - Mid-air Collision Sends Hensall Pupil To Hospital • Miss Gladys Baker, 16, Hensall grade 10 student of South Huron District High School, Exeter'--iin- derwent surgery in War Memorial Children's Hospital, London, Wed- nesday for fractured bones and in- juries to her left°cheek.
