No. 3, Hibbert on July 23, according to reports re- ceived at a recent meeting of com- mittees held in the school. Plans for the reunion celebration rapidly are taking shape, it was indicated. To date some 500 invitations have been sent out and anyone knowing of some one that has been missed please report to the secre- tary. Replies are being received every day and most are of acceptance. Some that plan to be with us are: Senator W. H. Golding, Bob Drake, Herk Drake, Belle (McLellan) But- tenham, Billy Pepper, Jack Pepper, Reta (Kerslake) Hill, Mammie (Naismith) McGregor, Isabel (Gray) Smith, Mary Margaret Ryan and teachers Mary (Jordan) Thwaites, Mary (Lamont) Camp- bell and Pearl (Stewart) Lawson. The program committee have se- cured Willie Bell, Scotch comedian, and his troupe from London or the evening. This will be followed by a dance. Legion Auxiliary Helps' Lions Pool The regular meeting of the Leg- ion Ladle's Auxiliary was held in the Legion rooms on Wednesday evening with Mrs. J. Taylor pre- siding. Twenty-six members were presenteand answered the roll call. Financial reports were read by the secretary, Mrs. Janet McGreg- or in the absence of Mrs. Audrey Morey. The sick committee re- ported bdxes sent to sick members and also to the veteran in West- minster Hospital. Cigarettes were sent to six boys in service. Donations were being sent to the Lion's Pool, the Old Boys' Reunion, and the Cubs. The mystery box was won by Agnes Walsh. Lucky draw prize was won by Mrs. Doris Adam. Payment of dues and fees amounted to $16.50. After a -few contests, lunch was served. HURON COUNTY W.C.T.U. ELECTS• MRS. E. GEIGER, HENSALL, PRESIDENT The annual convention of the Huron County Women's Christian Temperence Union was held Friday in the new ladies' parlour of James St. United Church, Exeter. Rev. H. J. Snell,' of Exeter, addressed the ladies on the power and influ- ence of the trap sformed life. The custom of social drinking was de- plored and the truth stressed that, "We are our brother's keeper". Mayo, of the Goderich Salvation Army, gave a resume of the "Conclave" for youth held in Goderich recent- ly and Mrs. George Johnston con- tributed a reading. The devotions were taken by Mrs. W. Welch and Mrs. H. Powe, of Exeter. Mrs. L. Taylor conducted the election of officers. Sta- tions throughout the world. This special day, iwas inaugurated in 1947 by National Defense Minister Brooke Claxton to give the public an opportunity to see and learn at first hand the activities of their Air Force which is playing a large part in the `defense of the free world. During the day Airforce personnel will play hosts to the public by conducting tours of the stations and demonstrate the use of a great variety of R.C.A.F. equipment. R.C.A.F. Station Clinton, unlike most R.C.A.F. units is primarily a technical training station which specializes in the education of young men and women. who will service, operate and maintain the vital electronic equipment which is so necessary in a modern air force. Some students learn to service and operate radar equip- ment. Others learn to operate and service communications equipment which is a vital link between the man in the air and the man on the ground. At R.C.A.F. Station Clinton, many wondrous displays of mod- ern electronic equipment will be on view to the public. Guided Mis- siles, the deadly weapons of the future, will also be on display.
