ter banquet on Friday evening,
May 13, at 7 p.m.
The tables were artistically ar-
ranged in blue and white flowers
\yith group colors. President Lois
Ann Somerville was mistress of
ceremonies.
Following supper, a sing -song
was held, with Miss Lorraine
Smith as pianist, and Joan as
song leader. The toast to the Queen
was given by Lois Ann Somerville;
a toast to the Church by Joan
Somerville, and replied to by Rev.

Mrs. Ernest Toll introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs'. Harold Pol-
lock, President -Secretary,.:, of. the
C.G.I.T. Mrs. Pollock spoke on
the purpose of C.G.I.T. work and
brought in her message on "Ad-
venturing With God" in a very
capable manner. Words of appre-
ciation were given by Miss Sandra
Doig.
The meeting closed with a verse
of the hymn, "Blest Be the Tie
Th,,at Binds" and "Taps." The
dinner was served by the W.A. of
Cavan Church.
The boy Was not suited to the
job.
- "You told me when I engaged
you that you were very handy,"
his employer said.
"So I am, sir," replied the boy.
"I live just opposite."

JOHN MOUSSEAU
DASHWOOD.—John Mousseau,
88, who died last Sunday in St.
Thomas, was born in Hay Town-
ship and farmed there far many
years. He also operated the Oak-
land House at Grand Bend. His
first wife, the former Elizabeth
Bell, died several years ago
Surviving besides bis wife, the
former Annie Webb, are two
daughters, Mrs. Richard Taylor,
Kippen; Mrs. Fred Jackson, Strat-
ford; two sons, Alex, Hensall;
Robert, Thorold ; three sisters,
Mrs. Amanda Wesley, Mrs. Rach-
el Denomme and Mrs. Marie
Smith, all of Detroit; four broth-
ers, Frank, Hensall; Edward,
Drysdale; Louis, St. Joachim, and
Peter, Windsor.
The remains rested at the 3off-
man Funeral Home, Dashwood,
where services were conducted
Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment was
made in Hensall Union Cemetery.
WILLIAM E, DENNIS
BRUSSELS.—Funeral services
for William E. Dennis, 82, who
died at his home in Brussels, were
conducted on Sunday at 3 p.m.,
at Brussels United Church, by the
Rev. Andrew Lane. Interment
was made in Brussels cemetery.
Born near Wyoming, he came
to Howick Township when a child,
with his parents. In 1896 he mar-
ried Maud Wright, and they resid-
ed in Wingham and later in Morris
Township, retiring in 1938 to Brus-
sels. Mrs. Dennis died several
years ago.
Surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. Harold Thomas, Brussels;
Mrs. Karl Neill, Woodstock; and
two sons, Harvey and Melville,
Grey Township; one sister, Mrs.
Carrie Bell, Tobermory; and .three
brothers, George, Toronto; Harry,
Lakeiet, and Walter, Wingham,
also survive.
Mr. Dennis was a member of
Brussels United Church, and a
member of the session.

for an average of 312.00, as corn,
pared to they sale average of $271.
a year ago. Bulls averaged $365.00
apiece with bred heifers bringing
$329.00.
The majority of cattle went to
pasture this week and pasture
growth is exceptional for this sea-
son of the year. A number of
farmers are practicing zero feed-
ing with feeder cattle this. year. A
considerable acreage of corn was
seeded in the south end of the
county during the week.
Interest in 4-11 Club Work has
been quite keen this year and to
date 520 members have joined 30
4H Agricultural Clubs in the`coun-
ty, which is an increase of 100
members over the 1954 member-
ship.

being burnt while playing with firecrackers without supervision,
it has become necessary to limit the setting off of firecrackers to
one day — the 24h of May.

No Firecrackers May Be Let Off on the Streets
Should a fire result at any time, and it is necessary to turn in an
alarm, kindly remain at the alarm box till the Firemen arrive
with the fire truck in order that they may be directed to the scene
of the fire.
It has been noted that children gather in front of the Town Hall
when an alarm is sounded. In order that no accidents may occur,
please warn your children to stay clear of fire truck doors.
