On No. 4 Saturday
First of its kind in this district,
a Dari-Delite Station, will open on
No. 4 Highway at Brucefield, on
Saturday, May 21. Operated by

MRS. FRANK RYCKMAN
HENSALL.-Mrs. Frank Ryek-
man, of Usborne Township, died
in South Huron District Hospital;,
Exeter, Tuesday night, where she
had been a patient for the past
four weeks.
In her 84th years, she was the
former Effie McTaggart, born in
Chiselhurst, where she was a mem
bers of the- W.M.S. in the Chisel-
hurst United Church. The deceas-
ed is survived by her husband.
The remains are resting at the
Bonthron Funeral Home in Hen-
sall. 'Public services will be held
Thursday afternoon,- May 19, at 2
p.m., with Rev. W. J. Rogers con-
ducting the service. Burial will
be in McTaggart's cemetery.

den, formerly Gertrude Hart,
whose father, the -late Rev. John
Hart, was at one time pastor of
the Methodist Church in Kippen.
Her huband, who was with the
Bank of, Montreal at Hensall for
some years, and also was man-
ager at Brucefield, died in Toron-
to several years ago.
Mrs. Madden lived in Hensall
for some years, where she taught
music and was choir leader of
Carmel Presbyterian Church. She
was also an elocutionist of out-
standing ability.
She is survived by one son, Mur-
ray, and one grandson, John Hart
Madden, of Ottawa, and one sis-
ter, Mrs. H. L. Whiteman, of To-
ronto. The funeral took place in
Toronto on May 17. -
Mrs. Madden's many friends in
this district will regret her pass-
ing.
MRS. BESSIE BOND
KIPPEN.-Mrs. Bessie Bond
died suddenly Thursday, May 5,
at the age of 71. A daughter of
James Henry Edwards and Eliza-
beth Olive Petchel, she resided in
Chatham Township the greater
part of her life. She attended the
Baptist Church there. Her hus-
band, Alfred Frederick Bond, died
in April 1948.
Surviving are, three daughters:
Mrs. Harland Elliott (Alma), of
Kent Bridge; Mrs. Lloyd Lovell.
(Margaret), of Kippen, and Mrs,
Bertram Weaver (Bertha), Ridge -
Mrs. grant Love,,of-Caro, Mich.,
visited a few days Last week with
her father, Mr. Robert Cooper,
and other relatives.
Mrs. Baybelle Thompson and
Mrs. G. Graham, of near Bruge-
field, visited on Sunday with Mrs.
Dinsdale and Miss M. Whiteman
and attended both anniversary ser-
vices.
StInday visitors of Mr. and Mrs.

and Stanley, of Louisville. She al-

-so leaves .to mourn her loss ' two
sisters, seven brothers, 23 grand-
children and 11 great-grandchil-
dren.
The funeral was held from the
John G. Stephen Funeral Home in
Chatham Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Rev. Charles Burtch, of Louisville,
conducted the service. Mrs. Gladys
Burtch rendered a solo, "The Old
Rugged Cross." Interment was at
Arnold Cemetery, Louisville, with
six grandchildren as pallbearers:
Leonard Ldvell and Keith Lovell,
of Kippen; Bobby Weaver' and
Grant Weaver, of Ridgetown; Lar-
ry Bond and Donald Bond, of
Louisville.

den passing of Mrs. Lovell's moth-
er, the late Mrs. Bessie Bond.
Rev. and Mrs. H. W. Workman
of Tillsonburg, spent the weekend
with the former's brother and sis-
ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William
Workman.
Mrs. Alex McGregor and Mrs.
John McGregor, of Seaforth, -at-
tended the Pohle - Kotcher wedding
in St. Clair, Michigan, on Satur-
day, the groom's mother being the
former Angela McMillan, of Tuck-
ersmith.
Mrs. H. Bowerman, of Listowel,
spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs.
W. Workman.(
Mr. and Mrs. Roy McBride, of
Blake, and Mrs. P. Love and
Wayne, of Varna, were Sunday vis-
itors of Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Jones.
