Relic Bidders Enliven Sale
Antique dealers from the dis-
trict bid against each other for
several hours last Saturday when
the household effects of the late
Miss Ida Glanville were put up
for sale. Interest of the many wo-
men who attended was focused on
the rare pieces of china and glass-
ware contained in a china cabinet
in the dining room of the home.
When the valuable antiques were
carried out to the porch, the
crowd jockeyed for positions from
which to view them. With five or
six dealers bidding, bargains were
at a minimum and it was not long
until the prized possessions of the
family were destined to be taken
to widely separated areas. A wal-
nut desk, marble top tables. orn-
ate bedroom suites and walnut
chairs ..shared the limelight with
the antique dishes.
crowd was estimated at 500. Har-
old Jackson, of Seaforth, was the
auctioneer. - Exeter Times -Advo-
