At the New Year's shoot at
Kippen there were 20 shooters
from St. Thomas, London • and
Goderich. In the 50 -bird 16 -yard
race, Charlie Parkinson, Lon-
don, John Anderson and Lloyd
Venner, of Hensall, tied for first
place, with Harry Mathers, of
Exeter, runner-up.
In the 25 -bird handicap, Wm.
Kyle, of Kippen, was high, with
John Gilbert, of Goderich, run-
ner-up. High over-all on the 75
targets was Lloyd Venner, of
Hensall.
The next shoot at Kippen will
be Sunday afternoon, January
9, at 2:00 p.m., with everyone
welcome.

Rosie Jenkinson, adopted daugh-

Hensall- The deceased, who was
in her 42nd year, died in a Lon-
don hospital on Sunday, Jan. 2.
Rev. W. J. Rogers conducted the
service, and burial was in Hen-
sall Union Cemetery.

ed Church Sunday. The morn-
ing anthem was "While Shep-
herds Watched," under the lead-
ership of Mr. S. Rannie, with

- The regular monthly meeting
of the Seaforth Woes n's Illi
tute will be held on Wednesday,
Jan. 19, at 2 p.m., at the home
of Mrs. A. Crozier. The roll call
will be answered by "Why I am
glad I live in Canada." This is
the work meeting and will be
in charge of Mrs. George Hill
and Mrs. Craft Simpson.
Committees are: lunch, sand-
wiches, Mrs. Harold Hugill and
Mrs. R. J. Doig; cake, Mrs. L.
Carter and Mrs. Gordon McKen-
zie. Will the members please
note the change of date of this
meeting. Eaeh member is asked
to bring or send a donation of
cookies or candy for the boxes
to be taken to the Home at Clin-
ton on January 21.

Karen and Robert, of Wingham,
visited last week with Mrs.
Beattie's mother, Mrs. Robert
McBride.
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart McBride
and baby, were recent visitors
of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McBride.
Miss Sharon McBride spent a
few days with her aunt, Mrs.
Stewart Baird, in Brucefield.
Mr. and Mrs. Eddie McBride
and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dun-
can Cooper and Douglas, Mr.
and Mrs. John Cooper, Sr., and
sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Cooper visited recently with
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Love, of
Caro, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gack-
stetter visited on New Year's
Day with Mr. and Mrs. William
Horney, Exeter, and on Sunday
with her brother and sister-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Fergu-
son, of St. Thomas.

Sr., had as New Year's guests:

Mrs. Lance Levis, of Clinton.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert McGre-
gor entertained a number of
friends on New Year's Eve.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lin-
den and Verna, of near Den-
field; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Car-
ter, of near Mooresville, and Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Ashworth and
Carol, of near Iiderton, spent
New Year's with Mr. and Mrs.
A. Parsons.
PARR LINE FORUM
The first meeting in the. New
Year of the Parr Line Farm
Forum was held at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Jarrott with
25 members present. As there
was no topic for discussion, the
members listened to a broad-
cast entitled, "Around t h e
World in Thirty Minutes," a
report on farming conditions in
the different countries of the
world. It was interesting to note
that many of these foreign
land, were faced ' with much
the same unfortunate weather
conditions and marketing prob-
lems as our own country.
Following the broadcast the
members arranged for a social
evening to be held in S.S. No.
3 on Friday, Jan. 7, at 8 p.m.
All members of the section are
cordially invited to attend. Mr.
Carl Oestricher will present a
number of films of vital interest
to farmers. Following this pro-
gressive euchre will be played.
Ladies are asked to please pro-
vide lunch.
After the Above program was
arranged, euchre was held, the
winners being: ladies, Mrs. Ida
Dick; gents, Wilfred Mousseau.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Coleman.
