HENSALL.—A quiet wedding
was solemnized at the United
Church Manse, Hensall, Thurs-
day, December 30, at 2:00 p.m.,
when Rev. W. .1. Rogers united
in marriage Hilda Mary Haun
and Carl Griffith Payne, both
of Hensall.
The attendants were N. E.
Payne, of St. Thomas, and
Mrs. John Coward, of Wood-
ham.
The bride is on the nursing
staff of South Huron Hospital,
Exeter. Mr, and Mrs. Payne
will reside on No. 4 Highway,
south of Hensall.

the 44th anniversary of their
wedding,: when a family gath-
ering was held at their home
The event was a combined
Christmas gathering and cele-
bration for their parents, when
all the
sons and daughters, with
their wives and husbands and
the 22 grandchildren, gathered
together in their honor.
A social evening was spent
and the family presented Mr.
and Mrs. Williamson with an
electric coffee maker. They were
married in 1910 at the Metho-
dist parsonage at Seaforth by
Bev, D. Rodgers. Mrs. William-
son is the former Gertrude
Forbes. They have lived con-
tinuously on the same farm in
Grey Township since, them.
The family consists of three
sons and five daughters: Nor-
man and Roy, Grey; Herbert,
McKillop; Mrs. Albert. (Olive)
Clarke, McKillop Mrs. Russell
(Olda) Jervis, Clinton; Mrs.
Lorne (Evelyn) Carter, R.R. 2,

Acquires Practice
Of Frank Fingland
E. Beecher Menzies, B.A., has
acquired the law practice and
will succed F. Fingland, who has
recently been appointed Judge
of Huron County. Mr. Menzies
is a Graduate in Arts of Vic-
toria College, University of To-
ronto, and in law from Osgoode
Hall. He studied law under G.
L. Mitchell, Q.C., of London,
and Gordon W. Ford, Q.C., of
Toronto, both leading counsel.
He is a son of Rev. A. E. and
Mrs. Menzies, of Ailsa Craig,
formerly of the Londesboro pas-
toral charge of the United
Church, who were very well
known and highly respected in

ber of the International Legal
Fraternity of Phi Deta Phi and
the Canadian Bar Association
will commence his tenure in the
