The Kippen United Church Sunday School will hold their annual Christmas concert next Wednesday evening. Mr. Arthur Anderson, who has been confined to Victoria Hospital, London, for some weeks, returned home much improved in health. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Kerr, of Winthrop, visited recently with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elston Dowson. Miss Isabel Caldwell return- ed home after being a patient in Victoria Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. Dowson re- ceived word last Tuesday of the death of their cousin, Mrs. Oliver Potter, of Clinton, and on Wednesday called on the family. Mr. Russell Moore, of Hen- sall, and Mr. Robert Thomson spent a few days in Parry Sound, visiting the latter's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David Moyer. Mrs. Eddie' Taylor, of Strat- ford, visited a couple of days last week with her mother, Mrs. Dinsdale, who is ailing. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thomson and family, accompanied by Mr. R. Thomson, visited Saturday in Stratford with Mr. Robt. Thorn - son's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Schneider. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wren and aughter, of Mount Forest, are visiting Mr. abd Mrs. Gordon Wren, Ivan having had the mis- fortune of breaking his wrist. Michael and Joan Smith, of London. were weekend visitors of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wren. Miss Anne Tate, of London, was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love. Gift boxed at 7.95 to 10.95 On Dec. 5, Mrs. Eva Gertrude Reid passed away in her 77th year at the home of her daugh- ter, Mrs. Lawrence Jamieson, of Hayfield. Mrs. Reid was born in Stanley, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Wiley, pioneer residents of Stanely. She was married in 1904 to William Reid, who predeceased her in 1942. She was a faithful member of- Varna . United Church, and as long as her health permitted took an active interest in its organizaticms. She was organist for some years. Surviving besides her daugh- ter are two grandsons, William and Reid Jamieson. The funeral service at the Ball and Mutch Funeral Home, Clinton, was conducted by her pastor, Rev. T. J. Pitt, of Varna United Church. Interment was in Baird4s cemetery. The pall- bearers were Lloyd Keys, Roy Keys, Alvin Keys, Wm. Reid, Robert Reid and Ken Reid. The flowerbearers. were Clayton Keys, Keith Keys, Chas. Reid, Bruce McClinchey and Elmore Friends attending from a dis- tance were Miss Roxie Palmer, James M. Reid, Ken Reid, Will Reid and Mrs. Gertrude Gorrie, from Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. P. Jahn and Mrs. Verna Greenbury from Flint; Mrs. Cecil Wiley and daughter, Carol, from De- troit, and Mr. and Mrs, Cecil Murray, of Exeter.
