Steel Plays a PartWith
Canadian Dare Devils
Local thrill show fans seeing the
congress of Canadian Dare Devil's
on September 13, Monday night, at
Community Park race track in Ex-
eter, will encounter two items of
equipment not usually seen with a
travelling show.
The first of these is the- huge
generator used in lighting other-
wise unlighted tracks. This is the
first Canadian outdoor show to
carry a complete system of illum-
ination as part of its equipment.
However. with the aid of the gen-
erator, any track used by the fam-
ed Canadians may be as brilliantly
lighted as a stage, and night per-
formances on unlighted tracks pre-
sent no problems.
The second unusual item of
equipment is the giant steel can-
non, weighing 4,000 pounds and
built of solid steel. Used in the
famous "Cannon Shot", this mon-
ster has attracted the attention of
literally hundreds of thousands., of
people, on the North American con-
tinent. The "Cannon Shot!' 'has
been acclaimed as the most daring
event ever presented to the thrill
loving public, and the spectacle of
seeing a 1951 Ford convertible shot
from the mouth of the mammoth
cannon is not soon forgotten by
fans witnessing this thrill -of -life-
time.
The show is scheduled to start
at 8:30 p.m., and is sponsored by
the Kinsmen Club of Exeter.
