Kyle, formerly of the Red Tavern district. He had been,..in hospital for nine months suffering from cancer. He leaves his wife, son and daughter, also brother, Mr• Thomas Kyle, Hensall, and sister, Mrs. William J. Ches- ney, Cartwright, Man. He was a veteran of the First World War, and left here about 35 years ago. A sister, Mrs. George M. Strong, died .20 years ago. WINTHROP Mr. and Mrs. James McDougall, of New Liskeard, and Mrs. J. F. Church Groups Meet g The April meeting of the Walton W.M.S. and W.A. gronps 'vas held at the home of Mrs. Herb Travis 011 Wednesday evening, April 14, with 25 ladies in attendance. The president, Mrs. Ronald Bennett, was in charge of the meeting, which opened with the hymn, "Christ the Lord is Risen Today," after which a prayer was offered and the scripture lesson was read from Psalm 734. Mrs• Fern Patterson gave the secretary's report and called the roll, and Mrs. Frank Kirkby gave the treasurer's report. During the business period final arrangements were made for a bazaar, to be held in the schoolroom of the church on April 28. Mrs. Allan McCall gave an interesting topic entitled, "Easy To Live With." This was followed with a poem by Mrs. Douglas En- nis entitled, "If I Could Make a Friend Today." The meeting closed with hymn 98, "Beneath the Cross of Jesus," and the Mizpa.h , [benediction re- ieated in unison. Contests were conducted by Mrs. Allan McCall and Mrs. E. Dale. Refreshments were served by the hostess and Mrs. M. Thomas, Mrs. John Shad - non, Mrs, Walter Bewley and Mrs. Robert Kirkby. The roll call was answered with the 4-11 Pledge. All of the members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read by secretary Don Dodds. Mr. Baker led in a talk on Parliamentary Procedure. He also showed films that were taken -at 4-H Achievement Days of 1953 in Huron County. The meeting was then adjourned. Baby Beef Calf Club The first meeting of the Seaforth Baby Beef Calf Club was held in Walton Community Hall Tuesday, April 20, with all members pres- ent. The roll call was answered by Club members repeating the 4-11 Pledge. The topic was "Parliamentary Procedure." One of the main hints was, when you come into a room, to sit in the centre on chairs, instead of a bench on a side.
