Rev. D. Glenn Campbell was the
officiating clergyman for the wed-
ding of Margaret Pearl, daughter
of Mrs. Jennie W. .Patterson and
the late John A. Patterson, and
Mr. R. K. McFarlane, son of Mrs.
McFarlane, of Almonte, and. the
late eorge McFarlane, on Saturday,
April 17, at 3 p.m., in First Pres-
byterian Church. Rev. H. E. Liv-
ingstone, Of Cavan Church, Win-
throp, assisted Rev. Mr. Campbell
at the ceremony. Mrs. M. R. Ren-
nie played traditional wedding
music during the ceremony.
The bride's only attendant was
Susan McLean, who was dressed in
a pink nylon gown, and carried a
nosegay of blue carnations. Follow-
ing the ceremony a luncheon was
served in the schoolroom of the
church, after which Mr. and Mrs.
McFarlane left for Toronto and
points east, the bride travelling in
a charcoal grey suit with purple
accessories.. On their return they

Obituaries
DEATH OF HUGH KYLE
Word has been received of the
death iu Calgary, Alta., on March
19, of Hugh M. Kyle, formerly of
the Red Tavern district. He had
been,..in hospital for nine months
suffering from cancer. He leaves
his wife, son and daughter, also
brother, Mr• Thomas Kyle, Hensall,
and sister, Mrs. William J. Ches-
ney, Cartwright, Man. He was a
veteran of the First World War,
and left here about 35 years ago.
A sister, Mrs. George M. Strong,
died .20 years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Alexander dur-

Church Groups Meet

The April meeting of the Walton
W.M.S. and W.A. gronps 'vas held
at the home of Mrs. Herb Travis
011 Wednesday evening, April 14,
with 25 ladies in attendance. The
president, Mrs. Ronald Bennett,
was in charge of the meeting,
which opened with the hymn,
"Christ the Lord is Risen Today,"
after which a prayer was offered
and the scripture lesson was read
from Psalm 734.
Mrs• Fern Patterson gave the
secretary's report and called the
roll, and Mrs. Frank Kirkby gave
the treasurer's report. During the
business period final arrangements
were made for a bazaar, to be held
in the schoolroom of the church on
April 28. Mrs. Allan McCall gave
an interesting topic entitled, "Easy
To Live With." This was followed
with a poem by Mrs. Douglas En-
nis entitled, "If I Could Make a
Friend Today."
The meeting closed with hymn
98, "Beneath the Cross of Jesus,"
and the Mizpa.h , [benediction re-
ieated in unison. Contests were
conducted by Mrs. Allan McCall
and Mrs. E. Dale. Refreshments
were served by the hostess and
Mrs. M. Thomas, Mrs. John Shad -
non, Mrs, Walter Bewley and Mrs.
Robert Kirkby.

Seaforth Swine Club
The April meeting of the Sea -
forth 4-H Swine Club was held in
Walton Community. Hall. The roll
call was answered with the 4-11
Pledge. All of the members were
present. The minutes of the last
meeting were read by secretary
Don Dodds. Mr. Baker led in a talk
on Parliamentary Procedure. He
also showed films that were taken
-at 4-H Achievement Days of 1953
in Huron County. The meeting was
then adjourned.
Baby Beef Calf Club
The first meeting of the Seaforth
Baby Beef Calf Club was held in
Walton Community Hall Tuesday,
April 20, with all members pres-
ent. The roll call was answered by
Club members repeating the 4-11
Pledge.
The topic was "Parliamentary
Procedure." One of the main hints
was, when you come into a room, to
sit in the centre on chairs, instead
of a bench on a side. There was
also colored slides on 4-H Club
work, presented by Mr. Baker on
Iast year's work. They were en-
joyed very much.

Farm News of Huron
Warm spring rains have created
quite a demand for information on
spring seeding. Requests for leg
time powder innoculants are quite
frequent. Swine prices continue tri
hold fairly steady, especially for
good breeding stock. Reports indi-
cate that new seeding and winter
wheat have come through the win
ter quite favorably.,
Airforce Base, Michigan, spent the

home with them after spending
two weeks there.
