helped with the quilting at the age

satin bows formed the setting at
the Hensall United •Church, Satur-
day, February)- 13, at 2:30 p.m.,
when Ruby Jean Ingram exchanged
vows with George Wayne Turvey.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John F. Ingram, Hensall, and
the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd 'Purvey, Exeter. The Rel.
W. J. Rogers officiated, Mrs. C.
Kennedy- was . soloist and Miss
Greta Lanlmie was at the church
organ..
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was charming in a floor -
length gown of white lace and ny-
lon tulle over white satin, featur-
ing a formal neckline over which
she wore a white lace jacket, 'but-
toned up the front with tiny satin
buttons, a Queen Ann collar, and
long sleeves. A little Dutch lace
tea held her fingertip veil of nylon
net, and she carried a white Bible,
crested with red roses and white
ribbon.
The three attendants, Mrs. T.
Steiner, Exeter, and Miss Norma
Green, afitcheli, cousins of the
bride, and Mrs. M. Brintnell, Exe-
ter, wore mauve , nile green and
coral floor -length gowns of taffeta,
fashioned 'alike with white nylon
tulle overskirts and trimmed with
matching taffeta aprons and velvet
ribbon. Their headdresses were
fashioned of taffeta and tulle to
match their dresses, and they car-
ried gardenias and hyacinths. Bon-
nie 'Purvey, sister of the groom, in
yellow taffeta, was flower girl, car-
rying a nosegay of gardenias and
(hyacinths.
T. Steiner, Exeter, was grooms-
man. David and Ray Ingram,
,brothers of the bride, were ush-
ers, •
A reception followed at Monetta

mother, gowned in navy blue and
wlliti crepe, with navy and white

Choir Member, Presented -
At the conclusion of 41iditr pra•e-

day evening, members of the choir
were- invited to the ?mute of Mr.
and Mrs. L. Tiberio for a Social
hour:aid a presentation in honor
of Mrs C. Forrest-, a valued mem-
ber of the choir, who is leaving
this week to take up residence in
Sarnia. Mrs. Forrest was present-
ed with an electric kitchen clock,
Mrs. William Brown doing the
honors. Luncheon was served.
'Honored Before Leaving Farm'
Mr, ;1n Mrs. George m1 -ram
have taken up residence on Oxford
St. in llotisall. Prior to 1 eaving
their farm the neighbors and
friends un Highway 4 gathered at
their 1101111, and presented them
with a table rind lamp. During the
evl•ntn=i yards were played .and
lunch served. The affair was ar-
ranged by Mr. and Mrs, Hugh Love.
Bride -Elect Showered '

ed by Mrs. A. Shirray and Mrs. K.
Eider for Miss Jean Ingram, bride -
elect, was held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. J. Ingram. During the
evening the more than 90 neigh-
bors and friends made and auto-
graphed a humorous bride's book.
The guests were invited to see the
trousseau and wedding gifts. The
Misses Betty Armstrong, Jean
Mousseau and Shirley Bell assist-
ed in presenting the shower gifts
from under a pink and silver dec-
orated umbrella, Follpwing the ex-
pressions of good wishes, a bounti-
ful lunch was served.
The many friends of Miss Katie
Scott will regret to learn is a
patient in St. Joseph ° "Hospital,
London, in the interests of her
health.
Mr. and Mrs. William Hedden, of
Hamilton, and Mrs, P. Balfour and
little son. Shane, of Port Dalhousie,
were weekend visitors with Mrs.
Catherine Hedden and Herb.
The ladies of the Women's Mis-
sionary Society of Hensall United
Church quilted four quilts at a
quilting in the Sunday Schoolrooms
Tuesday afternoon. Refreshments
were served.
Some of the credit in extinguish-
ing the fire in the tractor -trailer
owned by Allan's Transport should
go • to Gordon Kroft, school bus
driver, who drives the students nts
to
Exeter every day.
When he. saw
the fire he quickly stopped the bus
and used two are extinguishers.
Mrs. C. Forrest and family are
leaving this Saturday to take up
residence in Sarnia, where .Mr. For-
rest is employed. They will .be
much missed in the village. Mrs.
Forrest has taken an active part
in 11111tc'tl and the different organ-
izations in the community.
At the conclusion of choir prac-
tice Tuesday evening of the lad-
ies' community choir, members met
at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. C.
Goddard and enjoyed a social hour
and lunch, Mrs. C. Forrest .was
made the presentation of an elec-
tric coffee percolator. .
On Tuesday morning on No. 4
High -way, one mile north of Exeter,
John Taylor, driver of Hurondale
Dairy truth, owned by Ron Mock
of Hensall, while travelling south,
struck a water hole and lost con-
trol. Hitting a bank, the truck
rolled over, P.C. Filmer Zimmer-
man. who investigated, stated dam-
age$ would amount to $206. The
driver was not hurt.
Members of the Hensall Legion
entertained the Ladies' Auxiliary'
in the Legion Hall on Monday
night, when over 5"0 were present
and enjoyed a night of television.
A turkey barbecue lunch was serv-
ed. Committee in charge included'
W. 0. Goodwin, Jack Drysdale, Jim.
Clark, Bob Sangster and Dr. D. Mc-
Kelvie.

parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Cook.
The Misses Betty Mickle and
Frances Gibb, ndrses-in-training at
Victoria Hospital, London, spent
Saturday with the' former's par-
ents, Mr. and M'rs. Laird Mickle,
and family.
Miss Elaine Beer, who recently
accepted a position as secretary to
the Matron of King Edward VII
Memorial Hospital, Bermuda, flew
to Bermuda on Sunday to assume
her new duties. She was accom-
panied to 'Mallon airport by her
mother, Mrs.• Fred Beer, who is
visiting with friends in Toronto.
Miss Betty Armstrong entertain-
ed at: her home in honor of Miss
Elaine Beer, who left Sunday for
Bermuda. Elaine was presented'
with a gift of jewellery. The af-
fair was arranged (by 'Miss Betty
Armstrong and Miss Betty Moir,
and attended by a number of girl
friends of Elaine. Cards were en-
joyed and luncheon ,served.
The Valentine tea and, bake sale
held in Carmel Church on Satur-
day, Sponsored by the Ladies' Aid,
was well patronized and $90 reeliz-,
ed. The Sunday school rooms were
very attractive 'with Valentine
motifs. Conveners for the tea were

Mrs. C, Volland; baking, Mrs.

Following an illness of three
'months, ,los-5Reynolde passed
away in Wilidsor on Tuesday, Feb.
9, in his 83rd year. Mr. Reynolds
was born in Hullett, son of the
later. and Mrs. James Re
'M olds.
He is ,survived by one son, one
daughter; three grandchildren oaf
Windsor, and one brother, Robert
Reynolds, Northern Ontario. Mr.
Reynolds was a cousin of James E.
Reynolds, Seaforth.
The funeral was. held Saturday*
from the Bali and Mutcb Funeral

bers of the Hensall hockey team,
of which he played defence for the
past three seasons, presented, him
with a chrome smoker. Wilson Al-
lan, manager of the team, ,made the
presentation. Refreshments were
served.

Last 'T'hursday night the Seaforth
Midgets walked out of the Seaforth
Memorial Community Centre with
their WOAA Midget Group cham-
pionship. The local lads took the
third and final game of their best -
of -three series from the Mitchell
Lioes 13-5. The 'boys that went
all-out in the goal production for
the winners were . 'Bill Dinsmore
and Leon Murray,=who were each
able to step out with the hat trick,
In ,the early stages of the game
the Lions roared through on Sea -
forth and were able to score the
first two goals of the game before

Cairo, Michigan, visited Wednes-
day at the home of Mrs. Love's
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and

Mr. and Mrs. Beverley Beaton, of
Goderioh, visited a day last week

Jonah Green, who has not been
well of late.

of Toronto, spent the weekend with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross
