Three obetn:q for Old S. Nick,
With 12 days of freedom, all are
out to make the beat of the festive
Season. For 'the average student
it •probably means being forced to
sleep ie. the odd morning, and tak-
ing
aking in a couple of good old-fashion-
ed shindigs.
Tuesday night sounded the big
note in the school's big celebration.
In the gym, &reseed uP in sweep.-
able
easable fashion, the S'tudente' Council
came forth with one of their most
successful dances of the term. Ev-
erybody
verybody seemed ;to be in the best
of spirits, and for a ,Mange no one
was going around finding fault.
The big surprise was the way
everybody joined in on the illumin-
ation
llumination and epot dances. Doug and
Kate were left on the spot, while
Nancy and Satoh battled it out
with Doug Stewart and Barb in the
:illumination dance.
Bill Brock pulled the trick of the
evening when he decided to wax
the 'floor just before the square
dance. It was rather slippery,
wasn't it, Alice?
Tuesday was a tough day. From
9 o'clock right through until 2:15,
it was a continuation of parties.
Somebody might come up with an
argument, but do you mean to say
playing X and O's is work?
Carols started rolling out of the
auditorium at 1:15 sharp, as all
the students joined together for the
annual Christmas concert. The stu-
dents started the singing, but left
it up to the teachers to finish it:

Tuesday night hockey activity
showed some disappointment to
the Seaforth hockey fans as the
Wingharn Town Hailers fell to the
local Baldwins 9-2. From sounds of
high rating coming out of the
Wingham camp in the past few
weeks, it was expected that the
Wingham, crew might emerge with
some keen opposition. Seaforth
rolled the Hailers under the snow
in the second period when they
twisted the Wingham twine four
times. Although the early part of
the first period showed strong .pee-
sibilities, the outcome was fore-
casted in the last five minutes.
Wingham does, however, appear
to have a strong club. They need
"coaching assistance. in Tuesday
night's performance it was a con-
tinual shifting of lines and de-
fence,

When the London Lou Balls
moved to Seaforth camp Saturday
night, it ended in the most lopsid-
ed contest of the season. Not only
were the boys from the Forest
City going downhill in the scoring
department, but in the last part of
the first period they found them-
selves left to face the battle with-
out a coach.
Seaforth rolled through the Lon-
don goal without any defence op-
position whatsoever. Only the
strong goal -tending of Don Me-
Ainch held the Baldwins as long
.as they did:

Editor, The }lured: Ertpdreitor:
Dear Sir: I would like to briing
a matter to the attention of a,:1
hunters in this district through the'
courtesy of your valuable paper,
and that Is the importance of ex-
ercising
xercising the utmost caution when
using high-powered rifles.
On Wednesday, December 16, Mr.
Egon Gregusen, who is employed
by us, was startled by the whine
of a bullet which glanced off the
fender of the tractor be was oper-
ating, only a few inches from where
he was sitting. Owing to the poor
vislbility', ,he could see •n•y one at
the time, although he had seen
hunters earlier in the afternoon.
One thing is certain: the occur-
rence was purety aeeidental, but
Mr. Gregusen could have been ser-
lonely
erlonely injured or even killed.
Minters are always welcome
here, tint we do urge elef ne cau-
tion in teeing that stray bullets do

Thanking you, Mr. Editor.
