Nobody seemed broken•.pabout
it. When OldMian Winter decided
too let loose his bundle of 'Christ-
mas joy Monday, little did be re-
alize that his sudden spree would
force the students to take a . day
of rest. Everybody took sit with a
grin, and if the occasion presents
itself again, no one would object.
The sudden holiday did have one
person: slightly confused. It so
happened that it was the day tor
the Inspector, to . arrive. After
descending from his train, he plow-
ed his way up to the learned' in-
stitution where he was greeted by
our museum in desolate emptiness.
His bewildered thoughts were . set
straight after IsIr. Plumsteel ex-
ulained the evacuation.
Not only have we a skilled pian-
ist, but also a skilled composer.
Fred James made this readily
known in assembly Wednesday af-
ternoon when he played his own
hymn, which was sung by Nancy,
Spittal. Each week as the assem-
bly closes, Fred takes his place at
the piano to play "The Queen." Lit-
tle does the average student know
the long period) of practice and
skill contained in those fingers.
At the big basketball rally in
Goderich Saturday the local cage
crew had little success. Although
the Seaforth High squad paced the
play, they found they were behind
in baskets. The upset all rested
in .the fact that the team just
doesn't know how to shoot. If they
do, they w@ren't showing it.
This game didn'treally mean
loa
anything, but showed the coach the
weak points ie the team. What he
4s feinting for right now is some-
body who can sink baskets.
Since there were so Many a tureh
Christmas concerts Fridays night,
Mr. Plumsteel thought it would be
better to postpone the Chrdstinas
dance to Monday 'night. This
leaves the weekend open for two
festive nights instead' of "the one.
This past week the • Students'
Council has been trying to make
preparations. Just what they have
decided upon is yet to be unveiled.
Most o'f the topics are stall in. the
idea form, with little action taken.
Friday afternoon, after a hurried
lunch, r zoomed into the Council
Chamber •to bring you a play-by-
play description on what makes it
tick. These events are factual pro-
-cedure of the meeting:
1. Arrived at 1.2:50; :Vice -Presi-
dent Edna in the president's chair.
2. President arrives at 12:54.
2. ,Discuss the Christmas dance.
Mr. Allison was gut in charge of
the decorations, with the assist-
ance of Marg. and John.
4. Edna and Carol were to draw
up a variety of dances.
5. The idea for signing names at
the door was brought up, with
some of the Council members voic-
ing objections.
6. Thos was followed by a prob-
lem in 'finances. The Council is
next to bankruptcy. 1 (hope our
credit is good.
7. The doors are scheduled to be
closed at 9:30, but you might still
get in at 10.

No Penalties in Game As
Hensall Beats Lucan 10-3
1lensan gained an easy 10-3 vic-
tory in, Lucan last Thursday night,
December 11, in a Cyclone League
hockey fixture.
Broome, with three goals, spark-
ed the wieners, while Becker
counted two. Rowed, with two,
and Stretton were the snipers for
the 'losers. It was the first time
in five years in a Cyclone League
game that no penalties were hand-
ed out to either team.
8. The question of a skating par-
ty arose and was settled by the de-
termined statement: "My gosh! to
skate for an hour and a half is lots
of time."
9. Getting back to the dance
Monday night, it will cost 50 rub-
bles a head.
10. The Council broke down and
got some bottle openers.
11. Records from 8:15 to 8:45,
followed by the piff riff of George
Smith.
12. Jim will be the chairman of
the dance.
13. Cokes served from 9:30 to
12.
14. Sheila is going to be the
bouncer on the door. If you'ire
broke, stay at (home; she's just
hardhearted.
15. The invitation committee for
the formal' was asked to get their
letters out during the holidays.
Question of 'the week: How
come the alcohol disappears from
the Lab.' vwheii the mercury drops
below 32 degrees?
"How do you like your hair cut?"
asked the barber. And the tired
customer replied, "Off."
