Elections. are slated for the fol- lowing municipalities: • Colborne Township An election is needed only for the reeveship of Colborne 4Town- ship. Reeve E. Stanley Snyder withdrew. Clapnce Hunter and Harold Montgomery seek the posi- tion, after qualifying from among six men nominated: W. J. Young, Reeve E. Stanley Snyder, John Turner, James Horton, MT. Hunter and Mr. Montgomery. Four couneil members were ac- claimed: Anthony Vrooman and John Kernigham, of the present council, and newcomers, Ralph Jew- ell and Tait Clark. Other nominees were Chas. Elliott, Orville Blake, Howard Feagan, Leonard Fisher, James Horton, Clarence Hunter. Charles Millian arid Neil Lowery were acclaimed, public school trus- tees. Hullett Township An election December 7 is prom- ised in Hullett Township, where the nominees all qualled. Councillor John Ira Rapson will oppose Reeve William J. Dale for the leadership of the township. Newcomers Ar- thur Clark, Emmerson Hesk and Nelson McLarty are seeking coun- cil posts. George C. Brown, W. R. Jewitt and Thomas Leiper, of the present council, wish to return. Morris Township Another contest is predicted in Morris Township, where three men have Qualified for reeveship. They are Charles Coultes, Samuel Alcock and Bailey Parrott. Five men,are after the four 1954 council vacancies: Stewart Procter, Bruce Smith, William Eston, Wal- ter ,Shortreed and Ross Duncan. -Three school trustees have been acclaimed: Reginald Watson, Geo. Michie • and Torrance Dundas. Nominations in Morris were: Reeve: Harvey Johnston (withd.), Charles Coultas (Qual.), Samuel Al- coa (quota, Bailie 'Parrott. In the December 7 'elections, choice also most. be made from among five candidates for four council posts: John Bradley, An- drew Ritchie, Donald McKenzie, Thomas Howard and Reuben Wil- son. Four men have qualified for the three trusteeships -Marshall Gib- son, Walter Alton, 'Gordon Finlay- son and Jack Gould. Wawanosh Township Unlike East Wawanosh, where all council and school board members were acclaimed, the twin township of West Wawanosh faces an elec- tion battle. Reeve Harold Gaunt's and John Durnin's names are both. to appear on the election ballots in the Dec. 7 voting. Councillors Gordon Struth- ers and Harvey Culbert seek re- dlection, while other council con testants are Lorne Durnin, Eldon Miller and Orval MPhe. Nominating record for West Wa- wanosh is: Reeve -Reeve Harold Gaunt (qual.), John Durnin (qual.), Gordon McPherson, Brown Smyth. Logan Township All members Of 1953 Logan Township Council seek return' to council, 'but a vote is necessary as Councillor William Chaffe seeks to move up to the reevesthip, also sought by present Reeve John E. Simon. Two new men would gain a plate on council: Earl Oppen- hanger and Rudolph -Bauer. Pres- ent councillors Oscar Rock, Wil- fred Krauskopf Ind Fred Herbert have qualified' again. Dublin Police Village The police village of Dublin has four qualified men seeking the three trustee berths: Joseph E. Looby, Gerald K. Holland, Charle& Friend and Patrick Maloney. Rats. payers will vote on December 7. Farm News of Huron Colder weather, coupled with light snowfall, has brought about the stabling of all livestock last week. Farmers report the short- age of water in some areas. Live- stock will be coming into the win- ter in good condition, says- G. W. Montgomery, agricultural represent- ative, and reports indicate that there will be adequate feed sup- plies.
