the game that will either make us
or. • realt us., petween now and
next Wednesday there are going
to be a lot of weary bones, 'but the
practice should pay off in the final
challenge.
Say, did you .see the spirit the
Clinton .supporters brought tc the
game? They had everything from
decorated cars and buses to dump
tracks. Before Wednesday, ..lett
have some of those old school": tisa-
nes in the gym and set the }S'ace
from, .start to finish in . Exeter.
There has been a suggestion of its-
ing ;the school band, but nothing
definite on this subject.
Money! Money!.11loney'! was the
theme of last weekend'e final fling
at the salesman campaign. Hats off'
to Bruce Coleman, who is the beat
seller, in the school. Bruce walked
off with the -top how of 169 point!.
Ruth' Teall ran a close second tp
the chamip;' Di the early part of the
campaign it. looked as ifit. was
Ruth in a walk -away. During the
last chive Bruce rose to the lead.
What is going to be done with
the money? Some will pay for new
football Mose and it is hoped that
the rest will be spent to buy block-
ing
locking pads for the whole team. This
has come to almost a necessity if
we are to keep a team in the line-
up.

but 'I don't think we would trade
with him. Pete Spittal is having
some time in the hospital since
Wednesday's game. The big centre
is suffering from an injured back.
Take it easy, Pete; you'll be back
in shape when we deal with our
Clinton friends next Wednesday.

Hensall Merchants Study
Business Attractions
A meeting of the merchants of
Hensel' was held in the Town Hall
Tuesday night regarding sponsor-
ship of special business attractions
for the people of the surrounding
district. A committee composed of
Jack Tudor, R. H. Middleton, Jack
Drysdale and Don Joynt was form-
ed to draw up a plan to present to
the merchants in the near future.
Customary closing hours were
discussed, and hours of the past
year will be in effect. It was de-
cided to observe a full holiday No-
vember 11 and petition Council re-
garding same. Jack Tudor was
chairman.
oriel Arena, Seaforth topipled their
last season rivals, the Waterloo
Siskins, to the tune of 5-2. Unfor-
tunately, the Baldwins were unable
to take two in a row, as they ran
into stile opposition in Woodstock
Tuesday night and lost 4-3.
During .Saturday night's game the
locals set the pace from start to
finish. In the final period it was
evident that the Siskins were run-
ning out of steam, while the Bald-
wins were going strong and press-
ing the attack deep into Waterloo
territory.
Surprising to most of the 600 fans
was the first-rate performance Ron
Salter played in the Seaforth cage.
Throughout the game Ron stood
fast and made the invaders work
for every goal.
Woodstock also decided to win
their first game of the year at the
expense of Seaforth. All the way
both teams played hard, but Wood-
stock came up with a one -goal
edge.
Some hockey fans will be inter-
ested to know that Dalt Shine is
now wearing the Woodstock colors
and he proved a hindrance to Sea -
forth during the Tuesday perform-
ance. Another key player out of
Seaforth's league playing this sea-
son in the Woodstock camp is
Ralph Garlick. Last season Ralph
was well up in the scoring race as
he fired the league's hardest shot
for Wallaceburg. Both of these
players• are in action against Sea -
forth Thursday, when the Baldwins
play host to Woostock.
Mrs. George Anderson and Miss
Wilson, Toronto, who have been
visiting Mrs. K. McCuaig, have re-
turned to Toronto.
