LATE FRED A REEVES
Following a major operation,
Fred A. Reeves passed away Fri-
day, June 12, in Scott Memorial
Hospital in his 76th. year. Mr.
Reeves had been ailing for the
past four years.
• Born at Baden, he was the son
of the late Mr. and Mrs, Gabriel
Reeves, former residents of town.
He was married in Egmondville in
1901 to Mary G. Schade, who sur-
vives, together with three daugh-
ters and one son, Mrs, James Mc -
Nairn, Egmondville; Mrs. C. Web-
ster, Detroit; Mrs. 111, Hewlett, To-
ronto, and ' Clarence Reeves, at
home. Mere are nine grandchii-
dren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Reeves marked
their Bolden Wedding in J951. De-
ceased was a member Of First Pres -

The funeral was held Monday at

The community is very sorry to
learn Mr. Galbraith was leaving af-
ter three successful years as
teacher,
London on ,Sunday, June 14 was
regretted by 'a large number of
friends in the Constance district,
where she lived during her life-
time,
The deceased was born in Eng-
land and was• 79 years of age. Mr.
Clarke passed away 2I years ago.
Mrs. Clarke hadbeen making her
home with her son, Mr. W. C.
Clarke, London, where she passed
away.
Surviving are two sons, W. C.
Clarke, London; George B. 'Clarke,
Seaforth, and: one daughter, Mrs.
Oliver Anderson, Hullett; also a
brother, William Bennett, Vancou-
ver, B.C.., and two grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was held from the
G. A. Whitney 'Funeral Home here
on. Wednesday, with Rev, H. E.
Livingstone, of Cavan 'Church, Win-
throp, conducting the service. The
pallbearers were Ross McGregor,
Elwood Clarke, Stewart Dale, Har-
vey Taylor, George Taylor and Geo.

LATE WILLIAM R. PLANT
Following a, serious illness of
more than a year, William R. Plant,
Guelph, 'passed away' in Guelph
General Hospital Wednesday, June
10, in his 65th year.
Mr. Plant was born iri Acton, -'the
son of the fate Mr. and Mrs, James
Plant. Over 40 years ago he came
to Seaforth where he 'Served as
C.N.R. agent. "Bill," as he was
known to his many friends, who re-
gret his passing, was obliging' and
trustworthy in all his. dealings. Af-
ter serving here for 30 years ,or
more; lie was transferred' to St.
Marys. Five years ago he went to
Guelph to take charge of the
freight division..
He was married in 19.17 to Hazel
Stetvart,''daughter of Mrs. D. H.
Stewart, Toronto, and the late Mr.
Stewart; who were also former resi-
dents of Seaforth. Besides his
wife he is survived by one son, Dr.
Stewart Plant. Windsor, one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Gordon (Dawson, Ottawa,
and two grandchildren,
Mr. Plant was a member of the
Rotary. Club in Guelph where he
was held in high esteem. He was
also a member of Waverly Lodge,
A.F. and A.M., and was identified
with the Rose Croix and Scottish
Rite of the Masonic Order. He was
a member of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Guelph.
The funeral was held from the
Tovell Funeral Home, Guelph, on
Saturday at 3:30 p.m., and was
largely attended by friends from
Seaforth, St. Marys, Guelph and
Toronto. Interment was in Wood -
lawn Cemetery, Guelph.

In 1921 he started a restaurant
in Seaforth, and was there unil
1937, when he came to Mitchell.

the Cozy Grill.
He was an active member of
Main St. United Church, a member
of Tudor Masonic Lodge and a
Past Master of Britannia Lodge in
Seaforth.
Surviving besides, his wife are
two sons, John, Blenheim; William,
at home; two daughters, Mrs. Roy
Leppard•, St. Catharines; Mrs. John
Hoffineyer. Mitchell; one brother,
Nicholas, Toronto; two sisters in
Greece, and five grandchildren.
After resting at the Heath fun-
eral home, service was held ,Mon-
day at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. J. R.
Watt, of Main St. United Church,
and the Rev. H, H. Savage, D.D.,
of Pontiac, Mich., conducted the
service. Burial was made in Wood-
land cemetery, Mitchell.
