Hold June Meeting
Members decided to hold the
June meeting in the Legion rooms
rather than a picnic. Arrangements
ax•e to be in charge of the com-
mittee.
Mrs. F. Kling sang two enjoyable
solos, "Lassie O'Mine" and "The
Road to the Isles," accompanied by
Mrs. McGregor. Mr. John Alexan-
der showed an illustrated travel-
ogue which was a pleasing teature..
• Miss W. Gray moved the vote of
appreciation to all. On behalf of
the Seaforth ladies Mrs. A. Pepper
expressed gratitude. A tempting
luncheon was served by the hos-
tesses and their assistants.

Fortieth Anniversary
The Marion Ritchie Evening Aux-
iliary of Cromarty Presbyterian
Church marked its 40th annivers-
ary at a gathering in the church,
with more than 100 invited guests
present from London, Milverton,
Seaforth, Hensall, Exeter, Thorn -
dale and Staffa. The program was
similar to that of the first meeting
held in 1913,,with as many charter
members as possible taking part.
Mrs, Calder McKaig presided,
and devotions were conducted by
Mrs. Thomas Scott, Sr., and Mrs.
William Drover, SeafOrth. 'Mrs. J.
Semple, ,secretary- of the depart-
ment of ' Evening Auxiliaries in
Stratford Presbyterial, ,brought:
greetings from the Presbyterial.
A history of the society, .pre-
pared by ,Mrs, Calder McKaig, was
read by Miss Olive Speare, the only
charter member who is still active
in the society, Mrs. William Miller,
first secretary pf the society, -read
the minutes of the first meeting
and called the roll of the charter
members, 11 of whom were present.
A floralremembrance service for
former members who have died
was conducted by Mrs. Sam McCur-
dy and Mrs. Grace Scott. This ser-
vice had been prepared by Miss
Belle Campbell, Seaforth, a charter
member, who could not be present
on account of illness.

Thank -you letters were read from

Mrs. Tomlinson, Mrs. G. E. Thom-
son, Mrs. S. Workman, Mrs. J. Me-
Clymont, Mrs. Stephenson and Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Fairbairn,
Mrs. Emerson Anderson and Mrs.
Eldon Jarrett were appointed, visi-
tors for next month. .Members de-
cided to confine the lunch for the
regular meetings to any one article
with sandwiches.
Mrs.. Harold Jones and Miss Ed-
ith Love sang a duet, accompany-
ing thetneelves on the guitar. In-
teresting reports on the Huron
Presbyterial, recently held in Gode-
rich, were given by Mrs. Alex Mc-
lVfurtrie; in Mrs. Peck's absence,
at the morning session. Mrs. Mc-
Lean reported on the afternoon
sesssion.
Mrs. Harry Caldwell ,gave a
Mother's Day poem. Mrs. H. Jones
and Miss Edith Love sang 'a
Mother's Day duet. The study
,"African Village Life," was given
by Mrs. J. McLellan.
A vote of thanks to the hostess,
co-hoste'ss and those taking part,
was extended by Mrs..S4nclair and
Mrs. R. McGregor. Lunch was
served by Circle No. 1.

To Invite Groups to
Birthday Party
The Women's Missionary Society
of ICarmel • Presbyterian Church,
Hensall, held its May meeting in
the church schoolroom last week.
The meeting was arranged by Mrs.
G. Walker and Miss Dora. Alair.
Mrs. Walker presided.
Mrs. B. Edwards offered prayer
following the opening hymn, fol-
lowed"with the 'scripture lesson
read by Mrs. R. Y. McLaren, Mem-
bers answered the roll call with
The topic was presented by Mrs.
Marion Ritchie, the organizer and -
first president of the society. Mrs.
Duncan McKellar and Mrs. Lorne
Elliott then presented Mrs. Ritchie
with a gift on behalf of the aux-
iliary. Some of the older members
present, Mrs. Ward. Allen, Mrs.
Harold MoLeod, Mrs. Coope'r and
Mrs. Young, spoke briefly. Replies
to invitations, received from for-
mer members now 11Ving in Penn-
sylvania, Niagara Falls, Toronto,
Prescott, Lakeside, Stratford, Sea -
forth, Saskatchewan and Thorn -
dale, were read by Mrs. Janes
Miller, Mrs. Lloyd Miller and Wil-
ma Nen James. '
Solos were contributed by Mrs.
Darrell Parker and Miss Margaret
Walker; and Mrs. Ernest Allen
pla-Yed. an instrumental solo. Mrs.
Carter Kerslake presented the cow.:

A social hour was spent in the
basement of the church. Tables
were spread with a lunch, of which
the main attraction was a two-tier
birthday cake flanked by, candles.
Mrs. Alfred Hunkins blew out the
candles, and Mrs. Alex McLaren
cut \ the cake. • Both Q these wo-
men were charter members.

In Kippen United
A large attendance was present
at St. Andrew's United Church,
Kippen, on Sunday morning last
week for Mother's Day services
and haptisin. •
Adrian, infant son of Mr.
and Mrs. A. Timmerman, and kon-
ald Bruce, infant son of Mr. and
Mrs, Bruce McGregor, were bap-
tized.
The scripture lessen was read by
Bob Benindyk. Hank Benindyk
sang the solo, "Faith of Our Moth-
ert,i,;" with Mrs, John Sinclair ac-
colftanying on the piano:

Host to Mothers at
Meeting in S.D.H.S.
The seventh meeting of the 'Me -
:Mop Busy Beavers was held in
Seaforth District High School Mon-
day with members; mothers pres-
ent June Smith conducted a con-
test
Minutes of the last theeting were
read and the roll call was answer-
ed by "Vika I have learned from
the Club." Dorothy Keyes welcom-
ed the mothers and 'Catherine Moy-
lan played a piano solo.
Next meeting will be Friday eve-
ning at the home of Mrs. L. Pryce.
Record books and reference files
will be brought in at this meeting.
Ilene Godkin gave a reading, and
the members served their guests a
formal tea.
