was hostess at her home for the
annual meeting of Hurondale. W.I.
Ten ,dollars was•votedto the can-

Girl Guides' Play
Enjoyed in Hensall
On Two Evenings
A three -act comedy, "Good Grac-
ious, Grandma," sponsored by the
Hensall Association of Girl Guides,
was presented: to a full house in
the Town Hall May 7 and 8. The
play was enjoyed by appreciative
audiences, and the roles portrayed
Eby the cast were well acted. One
hundred and sixty dollars was re-
alized.
Mrs. T. Lavender, captain of the
Girl Guides, was in charge of pro-
ceedings at the hall. Rev. W. J.
Rogers directed the play. .Stage
decorations were in charge of Mrs.
R. H. Middleton. Between acts the
Girl Guides and Brownies sold
home-made candy. The cast was:
Bob Cameron, Harry Hoy, C. Ken-
nedy, Keith Lindsay, Ed, Corbett,
Jean Armstrong, Lois Henderson,
Lillian Toberio, Margaret Schieck.

jet flying. The British boys looking ' forward are 'watching a
model airplane display, and the very proud young man in front
is holding a model of the Hawker Hunter, a faithful smaller edi-
tion of the British jet fighter. Known as Jetex, the models, pow-
ered by a tiny rocket motor, were at the British industries Fair,.

Presentation of Bibles, for eight
Successive years of faithful attend-
ance, were given -on behalf of the
Ladies' Aid, by Mrs. W. R. Bell,

Moir and Bill Kerslake.
The Sacrament of Baptism was
administered at the morning ser-
vice, when the following children

Guest preacher at the 105th anni-
versary services of Carmel Presby-
terian Church, Hensall, to be ob;
served Sunday, May 17, will be the
Rev. William Weir, B.A.. B.D., of
the Presbyterian Church,' Bramp-
ton, who served this congregation
from 1940 -to 1943. Services will be
held at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m,

In Many Events
The regular meeting of the Hen -
sail 'Ladies' Auxiliary to the Cana-
dian Legion was held last week.
President Mrs. E. Rannie' conduct-
ed the meeting. Mrs. I. Dick pre-
sided at the piano. One new mem-
ber was iniatiated, Mrs. E. R. Dav-
is.
Members made final plans for the
banquet on May 13. Plans were al-
so made to -attend the zone rally
at
Lucknow May 14. Members will
trav'l to Lucknow by bus, joining
the Exeter ladies at the highway
at 5:30 p.m. sharp, An invitation
is to be sent to Brussels and Sea-
forth Auxiliaries to spend a social
evening with the Hensall Auxiliary
May 25.
Thank -you letters and cards were
read from Miss Gladys Luker and
Mrs. E. Shadd'ick. Mrs. Wes Ven-
ner presented the sick committee
report, and Mrs. D. ,McKelvie the
recreation report. Mrs. 'W, O.
Goodwin won the mystery prize.
Mrs. B. Clark•thanked the members
for a gift received. A Social hour

Present Variety Show
Huron County Junior *omen's
Institute -and Junior Farmers from
Exeter, Seaforth, Clinton, Dungan-
non, Belgrave and Lucknow .pre-
sented a variety show to a packed
house in Hensall Town .Hall. The
dhow was to raise funds to help
finance the Heneall Feeders' Club,
who sponsored the project. Bob
Carbett, of CKNX, was master of
-ceremonies. A dance followed the
show. -
Fete McKillop Couple
Before Leaving Vicinity
A farewell party was field for
Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Beninger,
of McKillop, before they moved
from Beechwood to make their
home in London. The evening was
spent in euchre and dancing. Music
was provided by Gerald Holland
and Wilfred McQuaid.
At midnight a lunch was served,
after which a set of dishesand' a
purse of money were presented to
Mr. and Mrs. Beninger. Ani ad-
dress was read by Louis Coyne, and
the presentation was made by John
Shea.
Native of Seaforth
Dies in Chesley Home
The wife of Dr. Wallace Buckley
died suddenly May 7 at,her home
in Chesley. She was 63. She was
the former Winnifred Brink Neelin,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Neelin: Her father was a
former Chesley postmaster.
Born in Seaforth, Mrs. Buckley
went to Ohesley at the age of
three'. She was active in all or-
ganizations of St. John's United
Church. She was a member of Jub-
ilee Rebekah Lodge and the Ches-
ley Lawn Bowling Club.
(Mrs. Buckley was married in
1920. Surviving are her husband
and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Rita)
Pratt,' Newmarket.
The body -rested at the residence.
Funeral service was conducted Sat-
urday at 2:30 p.m. at St. John's
United church, with, the Rev. H.
D. McCullogb: and the Rev. J. W.
Siebert officiating. Interment was
in Chesley cemetery.

17, when about 80 delegates of the
Women's Association of Huron
County met and decided to organ-
ize: After some discussion it was
decided that Brucefeld W.A. would
not join the organization at .pre-
sent.
Members decided to change the
date of the June meeting to, Wed-
nesday, June 3. On Visitors' Day
it is ,planned to entertain the lad-
ies of Kippen and ,Ontanio Street
Church, Clinton. Social committees
were appointed to take charge of
that meeting.
Mrs. Ross Scott offered to place

of May. A hymn and prayer

Broiled Veal Patties
'1/z lb. minced Weal -
1 cup mashed potatoes
1 tsp. minced celery 1
3/4 tsp. salt
Pinch of cayenne
1 egg yolk
Lemon juice or parsley.
Combine veal, potatoes, celery,
salt, cayenne and egg yolk, Shape
mixture into flat round patties and
chill. With tooth picks, secure
strips of bacon around patties.
Broil eight minutes on each side,
