The two collided at the intersec-
tion, The Truemner car rolled over
twice. PC. E. Zimmerman, Elceter,
estimated the dames to 'both ve-
hicles at $900.
Hullett Annual Music
Festival Held in
Londesbora Church
Hullett Tolinship's second an-
nual music festival .was held Wed-
nesday. at the Londesboro United
Church with Garfield Bender, music
director for schools in Kitchener,
tis adjudicator.
The full-day festival included a
program in which all winners re-
peated solos and, choruses for the
public. A class for rhythm bands
was added. to this year's. program.
According to Mrs. Willis VanEg-
mond, of R.R. 1, Clinton, secretary -
treasurer, 216 entries were receiv-
ed from 14 Hullett Township
schools. This represents a noted
increase over last year.
Former Dublin Bank
Manager Marked 90th
Birthday Saturday
Frank McConnell, who was man-
ager of the first bank to open in
Dublin, Was guest of honor at a
birthday party in Mitchell last Sun-
day. He was, 90 years old on Satur-
day. Mr. McConnell now lives in
London.
Born in Hibbert Township on
May 3, 1863. son ok mr. and Mrs.
John McConnell, he was manager
of the Western Bank which was
opened at Dublin in 1903. He mov-
ed to Dublin in 1895. The Western
Bank later became, the Standard
Bank and then the Canadian Bank
of Commerce.
He is the only surviving member
of the blinding committee of St.
Patrick's Church, Dublin, which
was opened in 1900.
Memorial Window is Dedicated
A beautiful memorial window, de-
picting the Resurrection, in the
nave vt,44.. Presbyterian Church,
was dedi ated at the Sunday moll):
ing service by the minister, Rev. R.
G. MacMillan. The window is in
memory of the late Dr. and Mrs;
Hugh Innis Strang, well-known and
highly respected citizens of Gode-
rich, Dr. Strang taught school in
Goderich for. 46 years, 34 of them
as principal of the Collegiate. Miss
Margaret Strang made the presen-
tation on behalf of the members of
the Strang family, Miss Mabel
Strang, Miss Grace Strang of Gode-
rich, Mrs. F. H. Hewson (Jessie) of
Niagara -on -the -Lake, and Mr. H.
Preston Strang, Toronto. More than
500 people toolcommunion at
Knox Church on, Sunday:—Gode-
rich Signal -Star.
