U.udoubtedly there is what my
neighbor describes as "more truth
than poetry" in the above rather
gay approach ,to the price -range .tis
between the primary producer and
the ultimate consumer, although I
think the• generalization does less

remember correctly, the packers
turn ;book to ,the livestock facer
almost the same price they receive
from their customers—the bulk of
the packers' revenues come from
the prdcesaing and sale of 101 by-
products (edible and inedible) of
their livestock handlings.

readers would be as interested as
I was in the following front-page
story in The Wall Street Journal
(Dec..1), which I thought a most
unlikely financial..,pasture in which

down" and, presumably, would get
the attention of the Big Brass of
